While I’m on the subject of Tolkien, here’s another peeve: fan writers using the wrong Elvish language for the context.
I’ve read a poem about Feanor’s parting with Nerdanel, which is perfect except for one thing: the dialogue uses the word mellon (of Door of Durin fame), which is a Sindarin word. Since the scene is taking place in Valinor, the author should have used the Quenya word meldo or meldonya instead.
(I also rant about Tolkien purists in the same breath. I’m very consistent.)
Well it is the wrong language being used.
Cue my low intensity frustration at RPing in Common but mechanically all my horde characters use Orcish…
just add both
And give dh a 3rd spec. Preferably ranged that plays like wod era demonology.
People’s horror stories about fishing in FF14 had me scared off but it’s one of the most relaxing things I’ve done in the game yet.
