Starship Troopers is the greatest satire ever made, because thinking back to how I unironically loved the marines and the “good guys” as a kid it’s slightly horrifying to know how well propaganda works on its target audience, which is the entire point because the movie is shot like an in-universe Birth of a Nation style propaganda piece for the federation. Watching it as an adult and a slight modicum of critical thought it takes about 15 minutes tops before you realize the protagonists are all fascists.
Lots of little details one might miss on the first viewing. The enemy being overwhelming but the notion of them even being intelligent is offensive. Buenos aires being a false flag to raise support for the war. Psychic powers being a junk science to instill a sense of superiority. Then you have them grinning at the end as they’re scraping the barrel with child soldiers.
Leah was always on the older side, but I finally made her look like the granny I guess she’s become.
Less smile though
Oh, microing low org units and using last stance on almost broken units. Good times, good times. Might I suggest playing Spain…Best practice nation for learning to plan and micro offensives, managing supplies and manpower…etc
When i was little i used to slip downstairs at like 5 in the morning to watch the cgi tv series and the UK top 10 charts on Sky One. Always makes me a bit nostalgic because of it when i see Starship Troopers.

G-Witch BD box art containing their “iconic” quotes. Suletta’s “playing it safe is fine, but to grow you need to challenge yourself” and Miorine’s “being gay is normal”.

Getting there but the game won’t let me have a skunk stripe.
Peeve: people suggesting you turn your hobby into your job.
As a guildie aptly put it: “You love doing this thing! Turn it into money, that way you will burn yourself out, have to keep doing it unconditionally and quickly hate it instead!”
it feels borderline dystopian at times thesedays. if your doing something you love because your passionate about it, you very quickly find you’ll fall out of love when it becomes a compulsion rather than a passion.
Everything must be made a commodity in neoliberal hellworld.
Felt this way about music
Got into the music industry
Now I prefer it stays as a hobby
For me it was “you like listening to strangers and inspiring them to work through their personal problems, maybe you should work as a therapist?”
No. Not just no but heck no.
Where can i become a professional statue rper that stands at the inn’s porch all day?
Thank you, I will keep it in mind! Another person recommended Italy to me since its the tutorial nation and starts out as fascist, so I don’t get attacked immedeatly.
As for my current Ethiopia run, the tide is slowly beginning to turn. I’ve managed to hold onto most of my territory and have now begun to slowly push Italy back into modern-day Eritrea while keeping the guys from Somalia at bay. I had a playthrough where I managed to rout them, but my dumbass left the north coast undefended and while I pushed them out the south, they invaded me from the north again. Fortunately I still had an earlier save. Im currently running the “Emperor Stays” focus tree.
The dream is to eventually play a game as the Dutch and keep Dolf out. Aslong as I manage to last longer than five days, im already doing better than the IRL government of the time
I can’t believe the iconic suletta quote is not Suletta Forgetta
Would’ve happily done the skunk stripe too, but just gone full grey now. May as well, she was late 40s before SLands, so she’ll be early-to-mid 50s now.
General population of AD start to understand why Blood Elves are still Blood Elves and not Sunborne/Belore’dorei/whatever challenge. Difficulty: Extra impossible.
Cultural and political distinction are too hard even when simplified in a game…
