Levey might be talking about Sergey Taboritsky, a Russian ultranationalist who joined the NASDAP and might have ended up in a position of power in Russia if it lost to the Axis. I can only imagine that some mods put him on a pedestal, for Levey to make that comment.
While some of the mods for Paradox games can be fun, a lot of them (especially the alt-history ones) can be pretty weird and political.

iâve tried to play it several times because i adore the idea of colonising the stars but itâs a paradox game and the learning curve is so steep that it makes me consider just figuring out how to build a real-life actual rocket and do it that way

Stellaris is less harsh than some options on the paradox list of strategy chores.

Battlefield 2042 might be an ok game.
Itâs UI design is utterly terrible, however. Game devs, please stop making UIâs so dang ânoisyâ; I donât care how shiny your menus are, I want to see what the heck Iâm doing and not losing where my selection is.
So, BFV is a big nope. BF 2042 I will give a few more goes, but Iâm not holding out too much hope.
BF1 remains the go to, although I once again am defeated by the low player numbers and the luck of Teams That Scored 75% on What Is Your Name ._.
The mod page for HOI4 alone is reallyâŚbad. To put it lightly. I also do not like the base game setting. But I like fallout. Thats the reason I got that game.
The other paradox games has some bad mods too because the community/communities is weird. Stellaris is in a niche spot though which is amusing.
You got essentially three sides to Stellaris mods/fanbase. The smelly weird players who think Imperium of Man is unironically good. Then you got a quite strong LGBTQ+, women and also furries part of Stellaris modding/fanbase that is surprisingly pretty hefty. Then more regular players who just like space strategy.
I mean, if we had to give up on every game just because some weirdoes make weird mods about it⌠weâd not have a lot left to play.

See some examples of Paradox doing good but Community is smelly:
CK2-added option to play as woman rulers and set womens right to equal across the entire world. Modders got mad and added mods to remove the option entirely.
Stellaris-Certain players asked if they could be allowed to make it so their xenophobic human empire consisted of only 1 skintone. Paradox said absolutely not and hard-coded the humans to appear as varyingly as possible.
Modders has tried to add mods that change this several times/often. But so far they get removed quickly.

The Fallout mod is nice though.
Also unrelated to paradox games. Had a fun moment with Cro after stealing some treasure from some other pirates. Stole a ship and rammed it into another ship & set it on fire and managed to rile up two crews to fight eachother a bit.
Then they got mad and started to chase us but turned around after a moment!

Pondering where to get gear for the LARP game, I just learned of the existence of an entire LARP goods store in Moscow.
Weapons, armor, clothes, accessories⌠Everything. Itâs like browsing an RPG store. I fear for my finances when I visit it before the game. How am I going to transport it all back home? Iâll probably need a second suitcase and the bow wonât fit.
