Pet peeves: The return (Part 4)

Yee I just saw, no humor from certain folks huh

Which is point 1 of my little rant. The presumption of a static population that ages. The 15 year old that played vanilla are 35 now and don’t play anymore. Where are the new 15 year olds that start playing to replace them? If they’re not there, if the total population is declining, then there’s no new players coming in.

Pinning the reason for that decline on players aging or having less time puts the blame on the players. Which is the disingenious bit I’m on about. Because the blame belongs to the developers and publisher for not making the game appealing to new players.

People don’t like having their culture/intimate beliefs insulted.

It’s even more funny then, because all the christians I know laugh at it but to each their own!
They also make fun of my pagan belief, but I guess a jest made in good faith isn’t always taken as intended, doubly so via text.

Did they not wish you a Happy Solstice? Rude.

Oh they do, in a similay jest as I wish them for any major holidays, alongside regular holiday greetings as is tradition.

I don’t know, man. If someone posted a June 28 celebration thread and somebody popped up and went:

Happy sucking d*** and getting a** f***** day!

I would probably take it the wrong way.

MMO’s do have a bit of a general issue with appealing to newer players. While not too different from more modern “live-service” games and the likes, they are still a bit of a thing of the past, generally more appealing to those of us who kinda grew into them.

I think the main negative for modern audiences is that alot of MMO’s want you to essentially pledge to them. They want all your attention & to not really play anything else. And that viewpoint is not so popular anymore.

Hardly comparable to Aldru’s very light obviously joking & generally harmless comment.

What’s on June 28th?

I’d say there’s a big jump between what you censored there and me saying happy zombie jesus day, but to each their own I guess.

Besides I’d have figured most internet goers would be familiar with ye olden zombie joke on easter, I guess not

Also gonna echo DP, what’s happening on the 28th of june?

Absolutely shocking you don’t know when the Stonewall riots began.

Oof, unfortunately I don’t play enough SoT to justify spending on it.
But good to know, incase I play it again! Thank you Cro!

Listen I have to keep track of at least 27 different dates for queer things, I can’t remember them all.

But thank you for the snarky reminder?

International pride day.

What? lol

Thank you for the forward answer.

Let’s see… Local queer related dates, important personal queer related dates, friend related queer dates, international queer related dates. It quickly adds up my peculiar classic posting friend

you don’t really celebrate one day any more, it’s the whole month of June where Stonewall is included in

you could’ve picked national coming out day or something else if you wanted a specific date :skull:

It’s really funny because here we celebrate Pride in August, so that is my first go-to month/date when it comes to any queer/LGBTQIAA+ related dates :person_shrugging:

Bold to assume every country has the same dates or history for queer things :skull:
