Always has been. Tyrande has consistently been portrayed in-game as reckless, undiplomatic, and shortsighted.
— Behind this door is Illidan’s prison, full of kaldorei guards who could help us against the Burning Legion. I think we should—
— Attack them? Great idea!
— I was going to say “recruit them”, but have it your way, High Priestess.
That said, “A Little Patience” was particularly dumb even by these standards. Tyrande, who had ten thousand years of experience leading ambushes — the primary Sentinel tactic — needed to be told about patience on the battlefield by a human, when human warfare has traditions of “CHAAAARGE!” second only to the orcs? What?
To be entirely fair, the exact line used in that quest was: “We use guns just fine, friend. CANNONS, on the other hand, I take issue with…”
Then again, since it was Cataclysm, that line was used for a cheap one-off gag and never referenced again.
The tyrande thing with A Little Patience is that the writing is character focused; Tyrande is perfectly in character to be a stubborn, aggressive person while Varian is the Pandaria narrative’s bright side and Garrosh’s counterpart, learning not to be a savage, rejecting dark powers and finding balance with the scenario demonstrating his growth.
They just kind of forgot about the whole kaldorei way of war being ambushes in the first place and could’ve replaced Tyrande with… that one orc hating sky captain?
Sure, you might ask why she doesn’t swoop in with her ship and shred the orcs but then we wouldn’t have a story. The entire dimension of warfare opened up by aviation has only ever been a gimmick.
Not always. I remember she was somewhat understanding of Kael’thas and the surviving blood elves in Warcraft 3, despite Maev not trusting them at all. I also remember her befriending a orc, correct me if I’m wrong.
She even risked her life to save the blood elves, as the bridge broke and she fell into the river.
.
She is untrusting of other races for sure, but she was so much better in Warcraft 3. All night elves were
This is major. I love my melee combat, but I do often remember the dawn of the industrial age and how forces with access to guns and planes won out every time. There are a lot of gimmicks in the way war is portrayed here.
Quiet Zero - or at least what Prospera says is Quiet Zero - is revealed. Control of all weapons to enforce peace. Reminiscent of the NTD from Unicorn. I’m glad it’s not taking control of people via Permet, though if GUND medical tech became more widespread it could be; I wonder if Miorine will object on those grounds too?
Love how murderous Sophie and Norea are. I was expecting the Rumble Ring to complete but Ur+Thorn interfering with it is way better. Again, another case of the show not spending time.
Chuchu still got to show off her piloting skills. Fighting off the GUNDvolvas and dodging Norea’s shot in just a Demitrainer - the moment she gets an ace suit she is going to crush.
I’m still a little bit disappointed that Eri is Aerial, but is what it is. Not the end of the world.
I asked chatgpt to finally try and fully understand exactly what Elidibus’ plan was in FF14, and even the combined power of cloud information and AI gets confused about two sentences in which makes me feel a little better about myself.
It’s not just a buzzword though, it’s literally refferencing the technology as even “The Internet” was stored in physical locations only accesible from that server whereas with cloud tech it’s available everywhere.
Okay, lesson learned the hard way: just because a ring is shaped like a signet ring doesn’t mean it’s actually appropriate for that purpose.
Said hard way being using a needle and copious amounts of nail polish remover to clean the ring of stuck sealing wax. I’ll just custom-design a similar but simplified pattern for a seal that will be actually made for that purpose.
My brain: Hey, you’re not going to have the energy to go anything Productive today!
Me: Fine. We’re ordering a cinema ticket.
Brain: Wait, stop, you can’t-
Me: YOUR rules, you little git!
