The tyrande thing with A Little Patience is that the writing is character focused; Tyrande is perfectly in character to be a stubborn, aggressive person while Varian is the Pandaria narrative’s bright side and Garrosh’s counterpart, learning not to be a savage, rejecting dark powers and finding balance with the scenario demonstrating his growth.
They just kind of forgot about the whole kaldorei way of war being ambushes in the first place and could’ve replaced Tyrande with… that one orc hating sky captain?
