Peeve: Replaying Hearts of Iron 4 as Ethiopia, once again going with the Emperor Stays focus. And good grief it just feels like self-torture. Especially when if you overthrow Haile Selassi and become communist, the Soviets can give you 10k rifles to solve your shortage, or if you go with the historical-but-actually-succesful path of Selassi appealing to the League of Nations, you get all manner of nice bonusses to drive the Italians out. And then there is ofcourse the option of just accepting your new Italian Overlords and then decide to either befriend or overthrow them laterā¦

Just got a phonecall. My dog has been unwell for two days and they canāt find out whatās wrong with him while heās in pain from something. Bloods found nothing. So if heās not better by Monday he will need a Ā£600 scan. Which yea, weāre gona pay it for obvious reasons, but this is heartbreaking

In less Peeved news, I completed the storyline of Horizon: Forbidden Westās DLC (Burning Shores). Cinematically and narratively? Beautiful. Loved it. 10/10, no notes.
Gameplay wise? I still think Zero Dawn was actually more fun to play, mostly because you were never scrambling for half a dozen different weapons that, inexplicably, all have different ammo loadouts. You had certain weapons did certain elemental damages or tricks, and you knew what you could rely on. Also, if I have one outstanding critique of FW itās that it is lousy for explaining somewhat obtuse mechanics, and trying to dodge certain attacks from certain enemies and bosses is UTTER BULL-
Despite the swearing, I was very happy. Now to go 100% completion hunting again.
Oh, it also gets kudos for Aloy being a fantastic Disaster Lesbian, finally scoring, and making a load of internet chads mad as a result, because āwHaT dOeS tHiS aDd To ThE gAme?!ā

Todayās Fact That Should Radicalise You is that wage theft (not paying employees what you owe them, even before we talk about Marxist frameworks of labour just literally the money they are owed) is more prevalent than every other form of theft put together and it is almost never considered a crime, let alone prosecuted
