Pet peeves: The return (Part 4)

Wow, there’s a follow up of 28 Weeks Later.

called 28 Months Later.

Kinda interested, not gonna lie. Loved 28 Days Later.

28 days later is a fav film. I’m excited!

Me not playing game: Cash shops don’t bother me that much.
Me actually playing game: This cash shop is ruining the game, frick that horrible thing!

Yeah… I think I hate cash shops. XD

If it goes really well, then it can be 28 years later, then 28 decades later, then 28 centuries later.

This will probs be the final one.

Lowest apartment listing for me currently is 44, crossing fingers it stays low (been stable 60-70s) and keeps going down :triumph:

Why do I get drawing momentum, then have to abandon it because it’s 1.50am, and if I ruin my sleep pattern at the weekend then work week will be hell?

Stupid humans, stupid sleep, stupid work… -grumble-

In fairness, HBO loves doing this with their shows.

I am probably just as red blooded as any man here and yet even I can say that HBO’s Rome, even with all the good stuff in it, got a bit tiring because there was nudity and/or sex scenes literally 2-5 minutes between scenes. I was really struggling on continuing to watch the series for more than 3 episodes because of how constant it was.

Esp. When you realize they sacrificed actually good, interesting and pivotal scenes to the story and rushed the series in part because of it. It’s still a decent series, but that’s one of the points where it suffers from.

I think the amount of grit and/or nudity stuff was done tastefully/well in series like Boardwalk empire, GoT and House of Dragon, though some individual episodes it felt a bit constant.

True, more or less- And yet, I think that in some ways the tv adaptation did things very well, regardless of the changes. Other things it did very poorly, such as the Euron case.

It wasn’t so much this as HBO were getting the ball rolling with Game of Thrones, repeated fires on set and the costs so they dumpstered Rome. A few of the actors were quite bitter over it for a fair while. Would have been funny to see Jesus in season 5 though.

Which is a shame to be honest. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Makes it a bit weird when Garfield’s Spidey refers to the other two as being his brothers.

Finally caught up on a more critically acclaimed MMORPG’s patch content. It’s pretty good.

Suletta Sunday

Summary

Legit yelled when Suletta won the duel vs. Guel.

Miorine was literally ungroomed until Suletta came back to get her. They definitely smooched, even without an on-screen kiss.

“I’ve only made it this far because I met you, Ms Miorine. Nothing about that was a mistake.” LOVE THIS LINE. Suletta knows she was manipulated into going to school, she knows it had all been part of Prospera’s plan, but despite it all she doesn’t regret any of their time together, and that it’s her choice to continue that connection.

The camera work on the part where it follows Miorine’s steps to the door teases her being nude, without actually being so - I can only assume this was a deliberate choice to emphasise her vulnerability in bearing herself to Suletta fully, while also not being titillating for viewers (and to not be censored).

Miorine being ice queen until Suletta surpasses Score 5 and then lets herself express properly was very nice to see. She clearly didn’t want to let her try but trusted Suletta to make it happen.

Calibarn Gundam is very cool! Massive arm cannon gives me Woundwort vibes. Also it can maintain the beam to cut, meaning it’s not just a beam rifle - it’s a BEAM SABER. Setsuna would approve. I wish it had a slightly chunkier back piece though. Maybe it’ll get one as an optional part.

Guel’s Dilanza returns!!! As it began, so it ends. I was expecting Schwarzette vs. Calibarn as a miniboss but it looks like Guel is getting to teach his little brother to grow up instead.

ED art.

Two episodes remain.

That’s just him being unsure on how to process all these feelings he suddenly has. He’ll get over it and come to accept his bi-self :+1:

The OST when things kicked off got me so hyped for the next episode;.

Two other visual references I noticed:-

Calibarn’s initial entry to the battlefield mirrors the Unicorn’s Full Armour deployment (and by extension, Zeta’s adbreak cut).

Calibarn’s beam cannon is shaped like a witch’s broom. This is pretty funny because JNTHED (the designer behind both Aerial and Calibarn) said that originally the Aerial/Lfrith had a more ‘witch-like’ appearance which he was forced to tone down for the actual designs.

Interview Question

Can you tell us about the process of completing the mecha designs for Gundam Aerial and the other mobile suits in the show?

I was ordered to remove as many of the “witch-like” elements from the designs as I could, but the designs I submitted to the competition had been ones with lots of those very elements, so my first job was to undo everything I had done to that point (laughs). Specifically, I had always drawn the funnels floating over the Aerial’s head so that its silhouette ended in a cone shape like a witch’s hat. The remnants of that can still be seen in the rear antennae on Aerial and Lfrith. In the end, all the external elements reminiscent of witches were removed, but the essential form of the MS remain the same as my first submissions.

I then shrunk the designs down in a deforme style so that the armor could be hand drawn and those became the official versions. Because of the story, the concept for the Gundams in this series needed to be closer in nuance to powered-up humans than vehicles, so compared to my competition proposals, the final silhouettes have been refined to that of an upside-down triangle and resemble massive humans in shape.

Calibarn’s general colour scheme gave me very Unicorn vibes in general. I would not be surprised if the thing is actually loaded up with PERMET like how Narrative was with Psychoframe.

The cannon being shaped like a broom actually escaped me, I was initially assuming that Suletta rocked up with a full on mobile armour like in Narrative/Stardust Memory.

Would not be surprised if the broom’s “bristles” are actually gund bits that will go nuts once Suletta pushes herself too far.

I will also commit crimes if they make the Calibarn a p-bandai.

There’s still an HG “New Item B” which has yet to be revealed for WfM with a July release. I can’t imagine it’d be anything but the Calibarn at this point.

Still bummed we didn’t get a Prodoros kit.

I have that one preordered already. Was initially worried it was the Gundnodes.

Prodoros is definitely P-bandai material. I wish they would finally open that up to Europe proper. I believe that France itself is getting a physical store this year.

Clearly you don’t know the depths that shippers will go to.

Hey I know exactly how shippers are (Supernatural’s reputation precedes it) but that don’t make it not-weird!!
