Side comment: Apparently Ufotable helped out with today’s episode.
I would not be surprised if Bandai/Sunrise did not expect this kind of popularity for G-Witch, intending the original 25 episodes and to just leave it at that.
My hope is Zeta, my fear is Destiny. I think that if they let the next season (assuming there is one) cook for long enough and let the writers continue to do as they did with Season 1 (My only wish would be a few more fights? One point of the show felt very barren when it came to action.), then we could get something that rivals Zeta in quality.
This is a pretty accurate way to decribe it. I too, will be siding with the Earth Nation.
But your comparison is great. My Momo plushy is super pleased (Or hungry, it’s hard to tell.). =D
If we do get a new season, it 100% has to be the current cast. I want to see the Earth House progress past the school and into the wider world.
I mean, there is so much ripe for expanding on. We already had unique artists for each major corporation’s MS designs, who says there cannot be some smaller/start-up corpos with even more suits? Why visit just Earth, and not also Mercury?
I love him to death. I really bought into Liara’s whole idea that he and his people were going to be big science nerds and instead he was just a doomer warlord with absolutely nothing to live for.
Also his quote about if honour matters is probably one of the coldest lines I’ve ever heard.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer.”
I don’t know if you actually want a real answer but he’s there because they wanted ME3 to be playable if it was your first in the series and he’s supposed to be who you mesh with because he’s also the new guy who doesn’t get all the in-jokes.
I think he’s great, honestly. I’m a big fan of his banter and the way you can kinda flirt back-and-forth as FemShep. People don’t seem to like how he’s not formal military (nicknames, ect.) and that’s not cool but it’s the end of the world, and I never see Shepard as being someone who runs a particularly strict ship.
My hottest take is that romancing Tali is cringe. She’s far too little sister and it creeps me the hell out.
His narrative is interesting too and his perspective on the Protheans is undoubtedly warped too – he was born when the civilisation was in its death throes, fighting with increasing (and in vain) desperation against a merciless, unstoppable foe.
What was the Prothean Empire actually like during its peak? Who can say. Obviously it was imperfect and with a lot of problems, but there was a big Roman inspiration with them (Romanising conquered tribes and so on).
For me, it’s not that I don’t enjoy banter - I love Joker for example - but I just found Vega’s persona and banter to be super grating.
Tali meanwhile is very much a more ‘grown-up’ character by the time she becomes a romance option in two, although she and Liara share a lot of story beats and the latter is my favourite romance so…
Liara is more like an upper class introvert who’s just finished her university degree in archaeology but lacks real world experience, definitely wouldn’t describe her as being a teen. She’s just got the same [just kicked out of the nest] energy as Tali.
