Pet peeves: The return (Part 4)

I cross the road to walk on the other side of the street if I see school uniforms

Pick up your pace and lean in with a shoulder and get a strike.

i’m not quite fit enough to pick up my pace without having to stop 20ft down the way to catch my breath. which if i’ve just taken out a teen with a shoulder strike will be incredibly awkward

that’s the worst bit about being at the start of your stamina training for getting into running, you can only run for a short burst before having to do break with a walk.

give me a few weeks though and i’ll be taking out teens en masse

In Japan it also serves as a bait to hunt tentacle monsters
Stylish and functional!

I hated my high school uniform. It identified us as that school, yes, so al the other high schools would yell at us. “BIBLE BASHER!!!” :((((

How do you figure it’s made particularly difficult for them?

Boys test results have plummeted across just about every country in the west. Same in my country.

And I say boys specifically because the drop has been substantial enough compared to girls.

More of them are also dropping out of school earlier, or leaving studies half-way in universities or other programs.

IIRC we’re from the same area of the country so I probably know which school you’re talking about

So after my Youtube algorithm decided to undo itself and give me a completely blank slate, I’ve mostly gotten it back after listening to a ton of gay songs and video essays.

But now it’s recommending me Vaush and Hasan :sob::sob::sob::nauseated_face:

I get more or less exactly what I signed up for, getting recommended something new and interesting once in a while.

Then we have the astroturfed far-right propaganda being boosted for pay + ads and there’s really nothing that can be done about it. Buying your way out of TOS seems easy.

From my own experience working with children in lower years alongside my own kids and my previous studies for teaching, it is a fairly longterm issue. Boys tend to do better in specific subjects they got a particular interest in, but worse in grades overall compared to girls higher average. Towards highshool and college, this can also shift and it’s not a complete outlier, but its a general situation.

Speaking only from Sweden, we got a fair amount of male teachers, but when it comes to preschools and the early years, male role models are desperately both needed and wanted. There is also a bit of a societal and peer pressure issue with boys in schoolyears, where it is a bit of a norm and “cool” to not care about studying, atleast from peers and other boys, with girls often being on the opposite end, being expected to do good and getting pressure for performing well.

And for some boys it can be rough to shake that off, especially if you end up in cliques where that sort of thinking is enforced and encouraged.

On the topic of school aswell, what girls often end up struggling with is bullying. Girls bullying eachother can be extremly vicious, especially up towards the teenage years.

Tfw when your household is probably responsible for atleast 50% of the views on one particular disney song because it just HAS to be on repeat.

Children are extremely repetitive at times.

I’d make a new account, this is awful for you

if the little mermaid songs aren’t playing i’m getting grief atm

It could be Frozen.

It was for a time. My youngest is still a big Frozen fan, but she can’t speak and therefore cannot make the request. Her bargaining power is weak

Just you wait until she finally can speak, that’s when the demands roll in fast. Especially with two of them.

Hear me out
