I only really need enough for 80(!) ore, and on run 2 Im on 24, so it won’t be too bad. I just want to get Mining maxed out and a few ingots while I’m here.
Then it’s on to Outland and Engineering
The good part is that there’s a ton of old mogs, and Grey mogs, that now with DF changes I can actually pick up as I go. And, hey, free gold trickle!
In other news, I got a response back on a ticket I sent into Behaviour(The DBD devs) about reporting a player as Cro suggested to me to contact them via ticket instead of in-game reports.
They’ve deeply apologized for the situation and is already looking into the matter to take appropriate action and will update me if needed further on whats going on.
So its just nice to get a response back and fairly quickly too.
10 games in on 10th edition 40k and I’ve lost all of them majorly because everyone plays Space Marines and Space Marine players are the only ones allowed to have fun and every Space Marine army gets to be better at anything any other army can do
getting space marine’d out of my hobby, frankly. why would i bother painting lots of miniatures if all i can do with them is put them on the table and then immediately just remove them from the table again
If the rumoured leaks from the Codex are true, at least Oath of Moment is being toned down, and hopefully the other available force orgs might make it a bit more diverse?
Even as a Mariner myself, the limits of Oops All Index is going to leave things in a bit of a rough patch until the book release momentum picks up, sadly
Ive only played the one game and at least the core rules seemed a bit slicker. But I think theres still balance and tweaking to be done.
The ambiguity that wasn’t, and the people thinking they’re very smart for molehilling an obvious villain into a philosophical titan. Big Randroid energy.
Gee, grandma. You keep talking about enlightened “neutral” self interest but every suggestion seems to result in some blatant dark siding…
So I’ve tried to restore my Battle.net authenticator on a new phone using a restore code, like I’ve done many times before, only to be hit with a very helpful “An unexpected error occurred” message.
And the new app requires you to attach a phone number to your account to use the new authenticator, something no other game launcher ever asked me.
What’s more frustrating is that I can’t even detach the authenticator in my account settings without inputting a one-time code, putting me in a catch-22 situation, because losing access to the authenticator on a broken phone is why I’m trying to detach it in the first place.
Rot in hell, Blizzard. You have the most byzantine account policies of any game company I’ve ever dealt with.
I like Kreia, and she is arguably one of my favourite characters across most media. But the aforementioned several hour long video essays really misunderstand her core philosophy and narrow her down to why Randian hot takes are so true or take her for a nihilist (while also misunderstanding what nihilism means). Both of which are objectively wrong and just come across as a weird way to justify why she was right.
She wasn’t. The whole point is that while she’s a wise and experienced teacher, she’s weighed down by her own biases and betrayals she has endured which made her bitter and disillusioned. Being betrayed twice by both sides made her want to wipe out them both. She tries to be impartial (and sometimes is on the trail of the right idea), but often fails at it, and the biggest takeaway from her teachings is that you need to think for yourself, not blindly follow the teachings of another in a vein attempt to please them. You’re literally told off at one point for just parroting Kreia’s own talking points back at her.
The whole show down on Malachor boils down to her wanting you to challenge your beliefs and test them in order to find out your true values, and finally forcing your hand if you refuse. She wants you to hear her teachings, discard what you believe to be untrue, and become better than she was.
Because Kreia was wrong. The ultimate message of Star Wars is hope, and she embraces that in the end (at least in the canon Light Side ending). You are the hope.
Dark Iron Ore grind complete. I did, after making the ingots, forget I needed the Black Anvil for the recipe I was going to make while in Blackrock, but at least it’s an easy dash if I ever do want to make it back there.
Now to decide if I want to deal with the other old Engineering grinds, or whether I’d be best off sticking to current stuff/whichever ones have Mounts etc
“But perhaps these are the excuses of of an old woman who has grown to rely on the thing she despises” is such a good line of hers and one that stuck with me.
It’s the most pivotal part of her characterisation too, yet people weirdly ignore it because they want to sell their Randian “actually it’s morally right to hate the poor” hot takes because of the Nar Shaddaa beggar scenario, which they once again misunderstood.
The point of that scenario is that she asks you to consider every possible outcome before acting, instead of rushing head first into a decision. You don’t know the consequences of your actions, so don’t be quick to make a rash one. The beggar was a metaphor.
Very silly for them to take that stance since she lectures you regardless of whether you threaten to murder him or give him money, and only approves if you say you’ll consider what she said.
Why is the Loamm niffen flightmaster named Avogadro? It just feels random. Like, what does he have to do with Avogadro’s law in chemistry? Or with Avogadro’s number–
…Oh.
That’s because he’s a mole person.
As a non-native English speaker, this didn’t even occur to me.
Actual peeve: my current campaign shows up as “Emerald Dream 0/1” and I can’t see my Embers of Neltharion campaign progress.
There are some incredible nerds on the current design team and I do see and appreciate them
Unrelated: I got a letter from Tyrande after the heritage questline (had to do it twice for some reason) and it was kind of sweet, I give credit where it’s due
The satisfaction of at least starting the DF campaign, so I no longer get the Covenant thing glowing at me every time I log in.
And the mild tease of Cindrethresh getting the Horde players race wrong and calling them an Ogre. We get it, Blizz, stop dangling that carrot out of reach!
