Pet peeves: The return (Part 5)

Phew, managed to book a space on an event whose first set of spaces filled in 90 seconds after bookings went live.

I was not expecting a tense adventure getting a spot on the tense adventure event

When the claud is sandbagging you left right and center so you and the doc team up to get her killed;

Love how both her and David shut up after doc was like; “yeah, you sandbagged Binx”

Steamed Hams and the Loss meme never fail to get me.

In other news, leaked internal Microsoft emails show that for some reason they are trying to buy Nintendo.

Again?
That always ends so well.

The last line of the email:

At some point, getting Nintendo would be a career moment and I honestly believe a good move for both companies. It’s just taking a long time for Nintendo to see that their future exists off of their own hardware. A long time…

Unbelievable.

Wild guess without reading anything: It’s about console market things

Edit: yeah
they fumbled xbox, time to just buy someone else I guess

phil spencer is just desperate to have mario as the xbox console mascot

microsoft can’t even buy blizzard how do they think they’re gonna buy nintendo lmao

they also want valve

why don’t they just buy sony and make it a full house

Oh to be so rich that any run in with the law doesn’t even startle you out of just repeating stuff.

For the best in both cases.

It is in the nature of the capitalist system to consolidate wealth and power, concentrating it in the hands of the individuals with the most successful predatory practices.

The big fish will always want more and more, and the logical end of the road threatens democracy itself. The fiction of healthy competition in a free market, voluntary participation and meritocracy thus becomes a shackle to weigh us all down.

When the working class has nothing to gain and nothing to lose, people find themselves already disempowered and dissent made into a threat to the bottom line. What are they going to do? Organise an illegal strike and face lifelong economic penalties for costing their benefactors a day’s worth of projected income?

It’s from 2020, so i think that’s gone an passed

Absolutely insane though that the FTC ‘accidentally’ leaked Microsoft’s entire business strategy, Zenimax’s whole release lineup, etc for the coming years

I think the FTC kind of torpedo’d their case against Microsoft the last couple of hours actually

owned, hope they do it again

The email seems to suggest a long play, with them devouring Nintendo shares at every available opportunity and trying to turn them around to the idea. It still likely won’t avail them though, Nintendo are sitting very pretty and the idea that they need to exist off their own hardware is laughable.

Although I’d be down with Microsoft acquiring them if it finally meant they would give me Wind Waker HD on Switch.

bizarre statement, I don’t think anyone should be fond of a government organisation doing some of the largest corporate espionage because they’re losing their case (and TES6 on their PS5, I guess)

personally i like my consumer watchdog organisations to not be firmly on the side of one specific corporation, and comically poor at handling any sort of concept of confidentiality at all, i think that’s bad for the consumer in the long run actually

i like the conspiracy that someone did this just because they’re salty about not being able to play starfield/elder scrolls 6 on their ps5

the console wars are alive and well
