Slight peeve I encountered recently: Comic purist fans in regards to shows and adaptations.
I’ve been looking at Invincible and enjoyed the first season and the current episodes, but I’ve seen alot of discourse around it from comic fans. I understand wanting an adaptation to be done well, but I dislike when the anger/outrage is just “Oh this happened too early” or “X thing didnt go exactly like this” and similar.
The length/speed of time in particular I think makes sense for adaptations, as I prefer a tv show to be able to reach its story to the end. I don’t think an adaptation needs 48+ seasons to cover every single page and detail.
With Invincible in particular, from what I’ve gathered it also had/has some of the things “The Boys” has/had as well, in that some stuff in the comic version was or is just…very mean spirited and downright bad because its just literal shock value & or just plain weird in a bad way.
Yet people still complain because “its not gritty enough” or other similar things.
This is old, but I do love the; “what machine do you think he was raging against? The Dishwasher?”

The ironic thing with the bottom image aside from Morello’s amazing reply, is that the dave guy is the exact kind of person that would say that they vote for a populist/awful person because “they are not like other politicians” yet instantly claims/complains that you need to be a proper politician/expert to understand if you don’t share their view.
