Pet peeves: The return (Part 5)

Did the weeklies on the character I’m farming winter cloth transmogs on. Two rings and a belt. Thanks for the belt at least, I guess, it’s my first actual cloth transmog in three weeks.

Legion Timewalking has some very nice transmogs available, in case people didn’t know - Nightborne shields, sword, staff and mace, and an Aegis of Aggramar appearance

Also Ravencrest plate armour, if you’re into that kind of thing

“I have a question for you young grasshopper”

Leo immediately averts eye contact, no he does not want to answer if he has already eaten the food in his bowl.

Daily reminder that Journalism isn’t a real job and that jounalists are the Scum of the Earth.

What did they DO to BM Hunters for GODS sakes?!

Trying to do the Halls of Valour scenario, and I’ve died TWICE. I’m level 70, ilvl 432, I swapped to Tenacity pet, Taunt is on, and I just died to a three man trash mob from full health. They locked onto my pet for about 3 seconds, then one of them started slapping 20% of my HP with every shot.

Someone make this utter :ox: :poop: makes sense!

Edit: Ok, apparently Wrathion gets ‘dedicated Tank’ status, and the game throws itself a sadistic little trantrum if you have pet taunt on. So hopefully that’s solved… Gotta love obtuse, counter-intuitive game design ¬_¬

Use corehound, the exotic version of the scalehide. Didi you MD your pet? I normally go in, MD on pet then spam every AoE spell before MD wears off.

Also stop using tena pets for soloing, they are not good, I had to put Raffles (my lava turtle) in the box ages ago and I have forever been salty about it.

The lifesteal from fero pets carry over to you and gives you some health back, which is why I struggle to do things on Erybdis when I forget to swap out her turtle compared to Nish who always has her vulture.

I usually have an Owl?

I dunno, I recognise those are all certainly words, but :sweat_smile:
I know a big part of BM is usually having the second pet, but 1) pain in the rear for RP, 2) was using a sabercat but they will not stop with that yawn emote… why does that have an sfx you can’t turn off? :grimacing:

Owls are cunning, you get speed, but you don’t get the lifesteal.

As said, if you’re struggling with soloing anything on hunter, bring a scalehide for MM and Surv (can use it on BM as well) and get a corehound for BM.

From a long time solo hunter, these are my two best pets for when I got to solo BS with little to no gear.

Here’s your list of corehounds;

EDIT: All pets do the same damage, but I find myself in dungs being like;
do we have BL?
No - bring out fero pet
Yes? Am I BM?
Yes - Kovok it is
No? Do I need the tank pet CD?
Yes? Out comes a tena pet
No? Cunning pet.

I guess it’s handy this is the peeve thread;

Peeve: Having to have specific pets to fulfill certain mechanical roles. I’m sure it’s optimal meta wise to have X, Y or Z.
But I’d like to use my owl. I know, it’s ‘just’ an RP thing. But it’s annoying.

Edit: I appreciate the help and guides though, honestly.

Yeah, I’m not particularly happy with it either. I miss being able to change my pet specs but now I am stuck mostly with Akasha, which don’t get me wrong, she’s a purple Slands scalehide and matches my purple suit of armour, but still!

I also miss Raphael being my actual tank pet (as said, lava turtle) but he’s been in my pet box for years now.

Other tips I have;
No matter what the talent guide says, take camo, allows you to bypass some mobs.
If against a pack, check that one of them can be frost trapped
Make sure you have bought book of play dead from the rifle vendor in scholazar basin (I think somebody sells it in the legion lodge too), gives your pet feign death so if they pull, they can drop aggro too.

I bought some protein bars for a post-gym snack and foolishly failed to look at the packaging. Normally, the red ones are salted caramel. I guess these are a slightly different red because they’re peanut butter - a flavour I do not like or care for. Tried one, gave up on it.

Guess I’ll offer the others to people at work tomorrow. Let this be a fine lesson that colours betray you.

Well, tell you what, swapping to my Saber has already made a night/day difference.

I can real-time watch their health dip a chunk, and then just… vampire back up to full. No sweat. Crazy.

Of course, it doesn’t help when you realise you’re in the Kill Box of ‘Fyrakk does his Deathwing from Wish impression’ as your health plummets from 100 to 0 in seconds and there’s nothing you can do about it… but HEY, at least all the NPCs who are made of freaking wood are totally fine!

Smdh…

If he kills you in the raid, you get another achievement (Still Standing In The Fire) and he laughs at you

very rude

Try burning moist wood yourself >:(

I got that in the Dream.

I wouldn’t mind, but he laughs on and on and-
Yeah, laugh it up chucklenuts, I’mma kill you later on for a super sweet armour set. And in the future, you’ll be farmable. We get the Last Laugh…

Entirely doable.

Also, his ‘super special’ shadowflame.

Also, when all else fails; drench it in fuel and watch it go up like a candle.

Aight question for folks, whats the fastest way of levelling these days?
Timewalks? Questing? I’m regretably (:weary:) resubbing tomorrow so I need to know so I can get to max ASAP and bully my friends in content.

Questing goes pretty fast

Excellent so I can just autopilot quests+bonus areas like SL then

I did like 4-5 Timewalk dungeons (they go pretty fast, like 10 minutes per dungeon I’d say) and went from 50 to 59 in the blink of an eye really.
