Pet peeves: The return (Part 5)

Man, they really can’t help themselves from committing to their sins of the past.

First the Zekhan incident, now this. One day, Blizz won’t “accidentally” commit these writing tropes, but today is not that day.

Well of course not, a spooky ghost wrote it :ghost:

It’s not even Spooktober?!

Copeland was visited by the Ghost of Bad Writing Past and unfortunately it went as well as it did last time this happened.

(His name isn’t actually attached to this one, but that won’t stop me making fun of him)

Well, we are going like, into Azeroth in TWW or whatever the underground stuff means. Considering how we’re 2 for 2 in Underground Azeroth Areas that Deathwing is a Major Part of… I would be surprised to not see Deathwing in some form in TWW.

In a funny way, this is true I guess. As much as Dragonflight for many seems to be inundated with cheesy Disney tropes, the expansion also does deal with a lot of healing and grief and trauma. Something that you really should’ve seen in Shadowlands. You get some stories, but every personality or story that you could’ve given were basically stripped away from you because they needed you to become an anima battery. Low-key, Dragonflight is us healing from the travesties of Shadowlands as well.

I wonder which Faerie Dragon that even is, were they named? This feels like something you’d really write down somehow, or celebrate.

Then again, maybe this Faerie Dragon decided to just pull a big prank on the entire world by apparently being the reason why the Sundering even happened.

Can’t believe Elenthas is right again, the fairies (after all, they apparently wrote fairy dragon) are evil (without this faerie dragon the night elves totally wouldn’t have found the Well /jk).

Finally, the recognition I deserve.

Eh, Deathwing didn’t really have anything to do with the Northrend underground stuff. While I’m soft-expecting Wrathion to show up, given how his story (stupidly) ended I’d expect them to be moving away from most dragon stuff in TWW. If anything does get mentioned it probably won’t be more than a passing comment.

I think we may see black dragons, Ebonhorn himself mentions hearing the voice of Azeroth. But doubt we’ll see Deathwing himself.

Yeah but I don’t remember Northrend actually having much underground stuff, wasn’t the Azjol’Nerub stuff mostly scrapped? Then again, I quit during WotLK so…

I don’t think they were necessarily on the same level as Zaralek Caverns (wasn’t this marketed as a ‘hey this is what our dreams for Azjol’Nerub as underground zone were!!!’) or Deepholm, both of which featured Deathwing heavily.

There wasn’t much - a bit of Azjol-Nerub (mostly in dungeons), a bit of stuff in Icecrown (mostly Yogg/Scourge) and a tiny bit in Storm Peaks (Old Gods/Titans).

I guess the black dragonshrine was kinda underground since it was a big cave but it was also mostly just about the Scourge doing things to dragonbones.

Also while Deathwing was related to Deepholm he never really felt like a central part of it. He had that corner where he’d got plates smelted onto him and its where he emerged from, but there wasn’t any real connection to him or the black dragonflight there specifically, like it wasn’t a legacy place before he fell over there and it won’t be after he left, if you get what I’m saying.

Dragonmom lost the top when she became strikebreaking PR disaster CEO of dragonkind.

I like Merithra now, taking on Ysera’s role as part of the grand theme of renewal, moving forward and new beginnings. Her new model is pretty and I like her voicework.

Alright I finished the leveling campaign, time to jump straight into Emerald Dream and have no idea what is going on.

Apparently it’s locked behind Valdrakken Renown, but Merithra’s quests are pretty important to do beforehand.

Unfortunately if you’re a new character, you’re just unable to see it immediately or something, so… I guess you’re right in having no idea what’s going on. :pensive::fist:

I did like the campaign though, hope you like it too!

Wishing all harm on the swedish registered church org that put some folder for their bs tv channel into my mailbox.
I do not want this, nobody wants this. I hope you step barefoot on a lego for this.

Before you go through the portal for the first time, many of the npcs have recap videos of important events from the valdrakken accord quests you missed/can’t access yet. It’s still a good idea to grind them out for the story.

The actual zone is incredible. Love this place.

Very overwhelmed by the amount of stuff to do though.

It actually runs out pretty quickly, so to speak. Once you’re done with the main questline, there’s not a whole lot else to do, which I’m not sure how to feel. On one hand, it feels like something is lacking (but probably was true for literally any other patch zone), but on the other hand it’s nice to be free from chores.

Outside of weekly Superbloom you don’t really have to do much else, and the Superbloom itself takes 15 minutes anyway. And funnily enough, it’s much easier to do alone.

Speedrunning the main story so I can see the tree outside of the dream.

Do I have to do the raid?

I think you have to kill Fyrakk yes, as it’s tied to the raid. It’ll be the very last quest in the main story that tasks you with killing Fyrakk. You can do it on any difficulty, including LFR. I think in the next patch it’ll just be made available for everyone.

The epilogue of the raid (celebration part) is pretty sweet though! I’d also slow down around the time you get to Eye of Ysera part of the main story.

Renown grind on 10.0 factions is such a slog.

At least with the Dream Wardens, you can do the three weeklies per week and reliably get a level of renown even if you do nothing else. (1000 reputation from superbloom + 1250 from planting seeds + 500 for the reputation quest).

It’s not too bad.
The worst remains the Niffen.

Also, contracts never hurt for a dash of extra rep.
