My Sorcerer spent a five session long dungeon only getting to be involved with two or so fights because no line of sight in all the other encounters, with anything else i could do doing too much in the way of friendly fire
that’s a lot of time sitting going “uhh i do nothing this turn i guess”
I don’t know, I really don’t get the concept of the casters getting all the glory - the sheer amount of damage a “hit em really hard” character can do every turn is insane
HotS is still mostly fun, although I had a PVP match with a bot account, AND someone dropped for a large chunk when things were already going badly.
There’s an annoyingly high likelihood of running into bot accounts, in vs A.I. certainly. Although it was like the same people over and over? One playing Butcher and one playing ETC, automated to run into the nearest lane and start basic attacking minions, no abilities, and no survival instinct. So, basically Feeding the enemy team. Obviously this was a much bigger frustration in the PVP match… -sigh-
Oh well. I quit that and stomped around as Deathwing for a bit~ And now it’s the weekend.
Suddenly i find myself with a ton of games to play and it’s neat. Just bought GORD which came out few days ago, a city-builder made by dudes from both Frostpunk and Witcher 3.
Also rediscovered Command and Conquer Generals and remember how funny the stereotypes were, aswell as the political incorrectness of it all. ( The Chinese get hackers, the GLA gets an Angry Mob whom you can upgrade by giving them AK-47’s , and slave workers whom you can make faster by giving them shoes, the Americans get to invade Iraq during the actual Iraq invasion).
Then there’s ofcourse BG3 which I play with a mate ( I made a HMP because ofcourse I did, he made a Dragonborn warlock). Somehow I ended up getting Lae’zel to get down bad for me even though I barely got off the nautiloid. I’m scared.
And then there’s still my boy Witcher 3 where I actually got to wear Henry Cavill’s armor!
i miss the days of gathering with the homies for a few hours of hots gaming, losing the social lost the game for me sadly. Even if I have fun, doing it alone vs friends is wholly different affairs.
there’s precisely four spell slots to be used for this, so it’d be four attacks on a single character for the entire session (at best, if the party even get a long rest after!)
Big fan of the special attacks (lacerate, rush attack etc) to give some variety and strategy to martial characters - playing regular D&D you can feel like your combat is just ‘I attack and end my turn’
It’s very good - unfortunately it didn’t seem as broken as it can be because the ‘let an ally attack as a reaction’ manoeuvre seems to trigger on the ally’s turn instead of immediately so you can’t double dip on sneak attacks
