Pet peeves: The return (Part 5)

My Sorcerer spent a five session long dungeon only getting to be involved with two or so fights because no line of sight in all the other encounters, with anything else i could do doing too much in the way of friendly fire

that’s a lot of time sitting going “uhh i do nothing this turn i guess”

I don’t know, I really don’t get the concept of the casters getting all the glory - the sheer amount of damage a “hit em really hard” character can do every turn is insane

I didn’t ask how wide the corridor was, I said I cast Fireball

im strongly convinced that the solution to solving my misery should ideally not involve turning it into everyone else’s misery

HotS is still mostly fun, although I had a PVP match with a bot account, AND someone dropped for a large chunk when things were already going badly.

There’s an annoyingly high likelihood of running into bot accounts, in vs A.I. certainly. Although it was like the same people over and over? One playing Butcher and one playing ETC, automated to run into the nearest lane and start basic attacking minions, no abilities, and no survival instinct. So, basically Feeding the enemy team. Obviously this was a much bigger frustration in the PVP match… -sigh-

Oh well. I quit that and stomped around as Deathwing for a bit~ And now it’s the weekend.

Due to the party’s previous night of heavy drinking, their elevated blood alcohol caused them to immediately combust as the fireball manifested.

can’t you just ‘i cast fireball really carefully so that the radius of explosion hits the enemies but not my allies’ like in the games?

or idk, call a pillar of fire down on the location idk what dnd has

Suddenly i find myself with a ton of games to play and it’s neat. Just bought GORD which came out few days ago, a city-builder made by dudes from both Frostpunk and Witcher 3.

Also rediscovered Command and Conquer Generals and remember how funny the stereotypes were, aswell as the political incorrectness of it all. ( The Chinese get hackers, the GLA gets an Angry Mob whom you can upgrade by giving them AK-47’s , and slave workers whom you can make faster by giving them shoes, the Americans get to invade Iraq during the actual Iraq invasion).

Then there’s ofcourse BG3 which I play with a mate ( I made a HMP because ofcourse I did, he made a Dragonborn warlock). Somehow I ended up getting Lae’zel to get down bad for me even though I barely got off the nautiloid. I’m scared.

And then there’s still my boy Witcher 3 where I actually got to wear Henry Cavill’s armor!

Let me know how it is! A lot of reviews call it a disappointment so I’m holding off myself…

i miss the days of gathering with the homies for a few hours of hots gaming, losing the social lost the game for me sadly. Even if I have fun, doing it alone vs friends is wholly different affairs.

Decay exists as an extant form of life.

there’s precisely four spell slots to be used for this, so it’d be four attacks on a single character for the entire session (at best, if the party even get a long rest after!)

im starting to think martial classes should use action slots (which they already do in bg3 hehe)

Big fan of the special attacks (lacerate, rush attack etc) to give some variety and strategy to martial characters - playing regular D&D you can feel like your combat is just ‘I attack and end my turn’

Sucks to hear that. I have to replace my Fiesta’s right balljoint at the front due to wear and tear.

It is what it is.

Fighter is the gigachad career.

They should reset on initiative instead of short rest though.

“Thats a terrifying answer, have a nice day.”

It’s why Battle Master Fighter is the best martial class in 5e imo

Oh, absolutely. I’m on the verge of starting to try and recruit people to come and give it a go for that exact reason

It’s very good - unfortunately it didn’t seem as broken as it can be because the ‘let an ally attack as a reaction’ manoeuvre seems to trigger on the ally’s turn instead of immediately so you can’t double dip on sneak attacks
