Pet peeves: The return (Part 5)

Sir my Intrigue does nothing but give me scenarios for grey items and then by turn 50 let me conquer the entire Old World with no contest.

BRING
ME
BATTLE

I’m now imagining the Goblin Doomdivers screaming louder than a Jericho-siren as they lock on target…

( For those not in the know, the Jericho-siren was the device that gave the Ju-87 divebomber from WW2 Germany it’s distinct sound. Said sound would later be used in movies whenever a plane would either crash or make a nosedive. It was essentially the Wilhelm Scream of airplanes).

Lizardmen are my favourite next to the Dawi and the Skaven. There’s just something about messing up your foe’s lines by sending in the dinos, only to watch them become a disorganised mess for the infantry to hit.

Use saurus quickly. Win everything. Kroak.

Would like to see some Brettonia love and updates for cav charge in general.

I’m honestly surprised they didn’t really get updated heading into TWW3 or when the Old World Tabletop released. Poor French people.

Or be Nakai with Kroxigors when you’re the player who just likes to smash things.

Brettonia is a nation I have not managed to make myself play yet. I ended up hating them too much due to my times as the Empire when those bastards kept nabbing Marienburg before I could.

That’s no reason to hate King Louen Leoncouer!
They, like The Empire, need a few touch ups and a potential relocation - they have enough errantry wars going to have a Duke in a different start zone. (Looking at Bohemond the Beastslayer, what Mixu did with him is brilliant and it’s a good starting area)

Bretonnia are mostly in a good place, the chivalry system is a little pointless and could use some better stakes and the green knight should be a battle summon rather than a temporary hero

The main trouble is properly managing a faction that is a good 80% shock cavalry

Make cav charges 50% better (less slow down, more intital impact) and increase the cost post vow completion.

They just need more of the tabletop infantry/ranged options honestly, that’d probably balance them out for most people. Grail Knights on foot, etc.

Question, how well does Brettonian cavalry do against spear-infantry? Better than their other counterparts or are they just as doomed?

A heavy armoured shield variant who are basically big lumps of iron to hammer and anvil against would go a long way, it’s true

Foot knights would be a good touch.

But play Brettonia with this mod on

Sure it makes all cav better, but it makes Brettonia how it should be - lords of the lance!

I haven’t played them in a few months but I recall their cavalry like questing knights and grail knights that have anti-infantry being generally okay to be left in the thick of a fight, even against spears, but much higher tier spearunits like upgraded halberdiers can prove a threat + and generally any unit with high anti-large bonuses.

They’ll struggle against halberds in a straight fight but that charge defence only works when the unit is bracing, and cavalry can just run circles around a bracing spear unit and go hit something else

Pick off their ranged units and then hammer and anvil the spears

Anti-large works against cavalry too then? It’s been more than a year since I touched the game I think.

Mostly cause I usually just played the campaign where you had to find Ursun, only to be left dissappointed when only Katarin Kislev got a proper ending cinematic.

Been trying the World Map aswell but grew bored of that too. Also… why is Naggaroth such a depressing place to be in? I was hoping to kick some butt as Grombrindral but good god, I just cannot sit in Naggaroth all the time, such a bloody depressing place. Rather fight in Lustria or the Badlands or the Empire.

Good, you wouldn’t want to be thought of as Bretonnian after all

Basically anything bigger than a man (or orc) is large - monstrous infantry, cavalry, dragons, all are large

Cavalry, chariots, war machines, monstrous infantry, and monsters is the full list of effectiveness w/ anti-large units.

Alright, thanks for the helpful suggestions! So when is this new DLC and/or rework coming out again? Because honestly, I should play that game again especially with a pc that can supplex it into submission without stuttering.

Also, I forgot one of my races I liked to play next to Lizardmen, Skaven and Dwarves. I just loved the ogres too, especially when they get their later units ( I remember bulls sucking :peach: ). Just the whole philosophy of ā€œKeep charging it 'till it dies.ā€

Also got good memories of playing Grimgor and the Greenskins!

30th April, assuming no more delays - about 2 weeks away
