Pet peeves: The return (Part 6)

Mum wants to move my phone number back to so we can have a cheaper family plan but instead of asking me before she went and called me in the store and the blanket I have to fill I can’t do bc I don’t remember her new address

I am starting to have a hunch she is also neurodivergent bc she REALLY does not think things through at any given point and it shows.

2 days late but…
Move to omega lmao

On my way to/from work I walk through a decent sized park which has a fairly healthy squirrel population. People also bring their dogs for walks here, and invariably, nearly every day, I see one off the leash running and barking and chasing squirrels.

And idk, I think that’s just a bit cruel. It’s their home. They shouldn’t be getting bothered by dogs when they’re just hanging out.

If they’re grey squirrels, may they burn forever in their red murdering hell.

So Facebook just sent me an email that takes me to an objection form that basically boils down to “we’re going to use your uploaded data for AI training, you can write an objection and we will review it and can deny it and even if we approve it, we can still train AI on your data anyway lol”.

I think I had enough. I don’t use my Facebook account anyway, I created it long ago in simpler times. Maybe I should bite the bullet and delete it.

I encourage everyone who registered on Facebook, but doesn’t use it, to delete their accounts.

Edit: Just a couple of seconds after I sent my objection, I got an email saying my objection has been reviewed and will be honored. I have a suspicion it’s automated and the “review” process simply consists of opting out everyone who files an objection no matter what they write — an opt out they added at the advice of their lawyers but intentionally made as obtuse and scary-looking as possible.

Getting frustrated with my Dwarf campaign; Age of Reckoning is just a different kind of Bad to what the old grudge mechanic was. On what sane planet does someone put a mechanic that makes you have to rush around on, one, the slowest moving faction bar maybe Undead, two, the faction who, lore wise, Do. Not. Rush. A. Damn. Thing.
One day, maybe, the Umgi will get it right. Figures they can give the blooming greenskins and skaven fun mechanics? But Dawi? Oh, heaven forbid

Then tried a Clan Mors campaign and, ha, ahahah No. God that’s awful.
I see so many posts from people complaining that TW3 is too easy, and I’m starting to think I just have to admit it’s like Paradox games, and that I Do Not Get It or am just bad at these kinds of games :pensive: Bleugh.

I simply do not believe them.

I formally apologise to the Lord of Flies as he bring his beloved children comfort in their eternal despair. This freakin’ party just revels in the suffering and feeds on it. Decadent old blood just feasting on the agony inflicted by their willful choices.

They’re drukhari.

I think the Drukhari are at least Competent Evil.

The Tories are like the Vampires*; old money bloodsuckers too enamoured with their own drama, self import and scheming, while wishing the peasants/cattle would be quiet and stop causing such a fuss.

-* The Counts, specifically. We’d at least get cool shanties and Attack Crabs if it was Vampire Coast ._.

I’m back at my summer job which permits me to listen through audiobooks while I work. Last summer I went through the Witcher series, the Silmarillion, and some other book that I’m weirdly blanking on. 9 books in total though.

Currently going through Wheel of Time and I finished book 3: The Dragon Reborn, narrated by Rosamund Pike who plays Moiraine on the show.

A bit of my way to and from work has a healthy squirrel population (all reds, we don’t have greys here) and strangely enough all the off leash dogs that also populate the area don’t seem to bothered with chasing them.
Maybe the squirrel mafia has secrets.
Maybe it’s the far more interesting sheep gang who likes to jumpscare unsuspecting city dogs while they deconstruct a bush through the mesh fence.

I heard loud screaming and thought people were fighting upstairs.

Then I heard how it kind of repeated. In a rythm?

Nope, just friday drunks “singing”.

Hmmmm, nah. I got my large FC house and Chaos is pretty dead for raiding + DC travel exists.

I will however pop over here and there

I have reached Little Lamplight.

  • The question of how Little Lamplight’s population of children is replenished is left unaddressed.

idk bethesda maybe if you wanted a town of kids who kicks out anyone when they turn ‘16’ you should’ve probably thought harder about the implications of the settlement existing for 200 years because I don’t like them.

Also wow the FO3 story is just way shorter than I remembered it being. I’d done basically all the sidequest stuff first and once you doing the main story it’s basically a race to the end. Zero moments to stop and smell the roses, it’s all go-go-go.

The playtest I’m in for “young adventurers vs. old adventurers” is coming to an end, in that we’re now levelled to 20 for group fights.

The total tally was:-
11 victories
1 draw (vs. Rogue - we were unable to find him due to hiding, he could barely do any damage, called it a draw to not make things last forever)
1 loss (Cleric Gated in a Balor and then Divine Intervention’s Invulnerability on himself, we then spent 3 rounds flubbing dispel rolls. It was, admittedly, still pretty close)

We’ve just had our first group fight and it opened with the wizard casting Sunburst->Action Surge->Meteor Storm and wiping out all but one, which then got finished off by my Planetar. They didn’t even get a turn.

Initiative kinda important…

There’s wedges of FO3 you shouldn’t think too hard about. It’s a bit wibble in writing strength in parts for sure.

Little Lamplight is one of several moments when it feels like somebody at Bethesda didn’t realize that it takes places 200 years after the bombs and not 200 days.

Maybe I should just start modding TW3. This is stupid. Trying Franz again; Seccessionst last army has acquired Knights and a Mortar from somewhere (they had the mortar last time, but GOD knows where they got damn knights from?!)

Hochland is gone. Full orc army and Kazrak have just rocked up on the door of the last town in Middenland. Festus is being unstoppable as usual. I’m sure things are dire down south too.

Oh, but it’s ok; the game decided what I really needed was one of its Random Event things which is basically just a straight up kick in the trousers, by deciding to give me a -20 diplomatic penalty with Nuln. Y’know. For NO reason whatsoever.

I’ll be honest, I HATE the stupid RNG events that have no upside at all, its not even a difficulty based thing, it’s just ‘here, you have a penalty for no reason, haha, sucks to be you’. Like, imagine in an RPG if your weapon just randomly exploded? Or one of your party just took 50% hp damage out of the blue? What purpose does it server, what’s the gameplay loop here, what’s the ‘challenge’ or just… I dunno, was one of the devs a freaking sadist, huh?

Edit: Nah, I’m done. Again. Franz is just not fun to play right now. His starting army is the worst out of all the Empire sub-factions, the entire Old World Empire starting region is just scuffed in the entirety, and maybe I should just shelve the damn game until CA deign to make the balance fairer for people who aren’t dialled in youtubers?
I do not understand how people are complaining about the game being ‘too easy’, this is ON Normal/Easy for heavens freaking sake!!

Stargate Atlantis did the same story but the age limit was 21 and they straight up sacrificed them on their 21 birthday.
