Pet peeves: The return (Part 6)

MY EYES!
What did I do to deserve this?!

The belf has the low poly skin shoe I was thinking of.

For me, the low poly ones are just old classic/vanilla models, as there were some shoes that somehow used the old models.

That’s not low poly, those are mangled just as much as the others.

I think its because the toes you see (we’ll say on my DK for example) is part of the shoe that is just dyed my DK’s flesh colour and to fix that, they’d have to make the whole shoe HD and if you’re going to make the whole shoe HD then you have to make the whole set and Blizz ain’t got time for that.

Ah, I went on a short googling trip just to confirm what I was saying, and instead I was wrong about Griftah’s - they also mangled your feet in the past. So Distantpeak was right as well.

Yeah, no idea what happens. I can’t speak for your DK, I don’t know the character/mog.

I think what happens - according to a MMO-Champion post from 2014, when Griftah’s was bugged - is that the shoe models in general use old vanilla character models for the shape (so, the shoe gets painted on your feet). And when the shoe model has exposed areas, say for example, toes… the skin mesh that gets applied on feet is the HD one over old vanilla model’s feet. Don’t quote me on this, though.

If that’s true though, what I find puzzling is… can’t you simply use the newer HD models for newer shoes? This way you wouldn’t have to use old models, or at least if you’re going to make feetwear that have exposed areas, maybe use the HD model? Unless that’s somehow impossible with their spaghetti code, and each footwear has to be modeled after vanilla model’s shape.

Really awkward, but hey - at least you can just hide the footwear altogether and you wouldn’t really lose much. I miss my plate slippers, but if the skimpy mog already is skimpy, it’ll already be silly enough that bare feet won’t break it.

Anyway, I’ve looked at too many toes, both HD models’, classic models’, and the mangled toes. My new peeve is that EU forums are always the rejected afterthought, and if you wanted to give any feedback to Blizzard (say, about Hero Talents in TWW), you’re better off posting on the NA forums.

Unfortunately my socialphobia and socialanxiety does not like when I am percieved, doubly so doing things like that :pensive:

Today I discovered that, if you have a more powerful (item) in LFR, you can’t press “need” on an item you’d for example want for transmog.

Which means that, effectively, you can’t get any transmog pieces from LFR while the content is current.

Who in the nine hells thought this was a good idea?

Got my caterpillar cake, got new Converse, now I am fully Peopled Out and wish to sleep for 1000 years

Too many people at work called in sick.
Please stop having the people sick… especially over random little things.

It’s probably a similar toggle to hiding hair/ears. People just forget to set the correct one because it’s harder to spot at a distance (and maybe people responsible for the 3D stuff aren’t into feet)

Birthdays be like that, happy borth!

good morning.

guild wars 2 has also announced swimsuits and one of their sponsored artists graced my timeline and vision this morning with the illustrious immortal lich king of elona his illuminous palawa ignacious joko in a string bikini for all the world to gaze at his emmaciated bisexual mummyness.

think i need councelling. (he did serve hard though ill give him that.)

Okay I’ve tried the new helldiver mission type, on difficulty 4 (“Casual”). Difficulty scaling is whack even there - arguably harder than diff 9 missions at times.

I do like the “shrieker mob” after you finish all the objectives though, that’s cool, since you’ve already finished the mission so it doesn’t matter if you get wiped out, but it should auto-call extract like the TCS missions had.

It feels weird because the operations have non-unique missions (so they’ll be ‘normal’ difficulty while the dark fluid one is so much harder. I don’t think it’d be the worst thing if all operations on the planet were just dark fluid missions, but maybe that’d get a bit boring.

It’s at least 57 years old as an idea.

Elder Scrolls suffers from some similar issues. The cultural stagnation is one good example. Most of the games are hundreds of years apart if not more, yet there is never any indication that centuries has changed anything whatsoever beyond a few names being swapped around or a city might not exist.

But their technology, cultures, landscapes are still completely identical to how they were maybe 250 years ago or will be in the next jump forward.

The lore being actively retconned IC plays into this.

True, there is that. But it doesn’t stop it from being an issue, even a small one.

Ungoogled Chromium changed its icon from the default unbranded Chromium blue to a menacing shade of red, making me very confused when I suddenly saw it in my app menu.

I don’t like it. Too aggressive.

No one manages to make my social anxiety spike as much as the friends of my parents… the struggle is real and it shouldn’t be.
