Back then I didn’t know anything about the lore - Legion was my first expac, and it took me quite a while into Legion before I even rolled anything Hordeside. Even with all of that in mind, I still found it laughable just how easily he went down. I know the intention was probably to show the “chaos” of war - how an arrow launched from afar can blind and kill a king - but instead it just looks like Vol’jin went AFK while an elite smacked him to death.
Funnily enough, in my ‘Headcanon if I could throw all the writers of the time in the timeout sin-bin where they belong’ tracks with that.
Bwomsamdi turns up an expac early, to cut a deal with Vol’jin (the Legion and turning souls to feldust is bad for business, mon) and make himself head-Loa of the Darkspear, while Sylvanas gets the position because someone who has already seen the loss of their people and life, and who fights dirty, is a much smarter choice than any of the other options.
Which leads into a BFA where Vol’jin and Bwom saving Rastakhan and Rezan (rather than just fridging cool characters) is a much bigger pivot point for the Horde/Zandalari relationships, and would let me throw SL in the bin entirely, and lead into an Old God ressurgence plot that’s fleshed out and has enough lead up time.
I can’t believe people were paid for the slop we got instead…
Peeve: I wish they’d get someone to fix all the broken, wonky languages in game. There has to be a fan nerd who could be hired on to give them actually working language bibles. Imagine caring about worldbuilding… -mutter grumble-

I still need to watch it. I’ve heard its really good!
Haven’t quite finished it yet, but my only main criticism is that the episodes move so fast that they don’t have enough time to properly breathe - the scripts are always great, but you feel like even an extra couple of minutes per episode would work wonders
also it has Nightcrawler and Gambit, which obviously brings the score up to a 16/10

Because that one ao3 fanfic about them that’s a full novel length didn’t have to go this hard for the ship to not exist in canon.
