Pet peeves: The return (Part 6)

There are two;

Genders - Male and Political
Colours - White/Caucasain and Political
‘Orientations’ - Straight and Political

And so on, and so forth. Oh, they’ll kvetch and move the goal posts and say you ‘just don’t get it’, but that is always what it boils down to. And I am tired to dealing with such troglodytes.

We need those bears in the woods to become more active in gaming.

I won’t be too surprised if that post gets Edited in time, but ya’ll know it’s true.

Anyway, today Summer has been put on hold, because of course The Rain is back :sweat_smile:
Oh well, I’m inside and off for the next few days. Which is good, 'cos I’m exhausted. Even though I’m feeling a lot better than I did post surgery, my energy levels are still ‘Lol. Lmao’ heh.

There’s a running theme in LARP that every single time we have an event set in the Southlands (mediterranean/northern africa) it tips it down and the field turns into a bog

And these gains are all still relatively recent.

Here in the Netherlands atleast, it was 1917 until all men got to vote, rather than just the rich ( we used to have a voting system based on how much money you paid, so ofc only Scrooge McDuck and friends got to vote back then), and then it took us until 1919 before the women were allowed to vote aswell. So that’s barely more than 100 years.

Plottwist: They become Bear Gamers with a capital G.

No matter what is said, they can handwave it away with:

Yeah, but we all know why they’re really doing it. It’s 2024, we know what people are like in this day and age. We’re not idiots. We can see through the smokescreen. They can’t fool us. No matter what weasel words they use, we’re onto them. We all know the motive and what they’re trying to do. They’re not going to trick us into overlooking that.

Though these are often the same people who act like victims when they’re accused of prejudice, who demand citations and explanations that justifies these accusations, and who even turn the accusation back on the accuser and declare that the accusation means that the accuser is actually the one who is prejudiced, not the accused. Checkmate, nerd.

The internet has a massive population of these people, who have a smug certainty of their own intelligence and who dramatically underestimate the intelligence of everyone else around them.
Sometimes they behave like they’re players in videogames, who are able to game to system, while the rest of us are just NPCs who have to blindly follow the rules like sheep.
They are clever and enlightened for being able to see through the veil and use their intuition to try and discern the true intentions of others and they don’t need anything to back it up, while everyone who argues against them has to jump through a hundred hoops and empirically prove whatever they’re intuiting.
We have to obey the system, but they don’t have to.

It’s main character syndrome, basically.

Finished Frieren. It was very much worth watching, and my wife said it’s the only anime she would without reservation recommend to absolutely anyone.

Is it just me, or does the main theme have some LOTR-inspired motifs in it?

Oh noes, why possibly could a company be doing a story on Yasuke? A very popular person in Japan where the game has been massively pre-ordered–

Oh right yeah, it sells.

Being “Woke”, sells. Get rekt bigots.

That too.

There is only one negative point to Frieren;

I now have to WAIT for the next season? Uwaaaaahh… :sob:

(The music is so good~ Zoltraak just… unf. Unf :ok_hand: and the Boss Music. Slowly floating out of moonlight… 11/10, no notes)

More time to watch Dungeon Meshi.

Ah…Dungeon Meshi…

Semi-related but I saw talk that Saihate no Paladin / The Faraway Paladin was heavily influenced by Tolkien/LotR but it’s an isekai so :-1: no thanks bro

Or more precisely, women who are not sexually objectified.

Tolkien and isekai don’t belong in the same sentence.

(Except I just put them in the same sentence, I guess…)

A lead character in a popular franchise being black is great. Maybe one day we’ll get black Superman and the rats will come out of the woodwork raging about how canonically there are no black Kryptonians in the comics or something idk I haven’t read a marvel book since I was eleven and discovered that manga is a superior form of the same artistry and the same goes with anime vs western cartoons.

Too bad I won’t play the game because it will inevitably suck a rooster and not in the good way. I gave up on Assassin’s Creed a very long time ago after being a huge fan for years and just getting one disappointment after another in recent years. I could go on a rant about how the framing story sucks and how I hate the ingame Abstergo interface spell effects and what the hell were they even trying to do with that series of Witcher 3 but way less cool in every possible way games, and why are they doing this ten years too late when I would have sold my soul for a ninja Assassin’s Creed game in 2016 when the trailerd were actually animated WELL OH HERE WE GO AGAIN.

I guess I’ll go play Ghost of Tsushima on PC for my white Asian man with a katana fantasy, which is a better ninja/samurai game anyways.

Hating on AC because ‘duh, the wokes!’ :-1:

Hating on AC because Ubisoft are a terrible company with abhorrent practices and who have steadily been making worse game that cost more for years :+1:

Though I would be really impressed if one of these big studios made an actual woke game for once and not just used sideshow characters for virtue signaling. I guess the Harry Potter one was fairly woke in that regard. Great game too.

On a separate note the only big show in recent years (and one of the best I’ve seen in a long time) that actually committed to representing a gay relationship without doing the whole THIS SHOW IS ABOUT GAYS AND ITS SUPER GAY GUYS WE PROMISE is Interview With The Vampire. Season 2 just came out and it somehow keeps getting better. Hell, they even pulled a character race swap from the original work graciously and tailored the narrative to reflect that.

Man, the day we stop giving money and exposure to queen terf who has friends in the UK government dead set on making mine and other trans people’s lives miserable.

As penance for me once again mention that miserable cowbag, here is my fav NB author trying to pick their next author photo;

Please pick B, I want Princess Kokochin (their cat)

What? It was. You get to play as a trans person if you want to. If you hate JK Rowling but like Harry Potter because it was a zeitgeist thing when you were growing up just pirate the game.

One thing I didn’t like about it is how they made the black quota character questline way less interesting than the tortured white boy one. The Sebastian story gave me the kind of chills I’d not had since the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion.

i was off work sick yesterday and spent it trying to finish tears of the kingdom. i’ve reached the point of being able to fight ganondorf, so now i just need to prepare myself

i have a horrible feeling he’s going to use the gloom stuff which i hate with a passion, so i’ll probably spend a lot of timing just finding ingredients to make food that counters it i guess
