Pet peeves: The return (Part 6)

I got an iPhone for free (my brother had a spare) and it sucks, so few chances for customisation of things like adblockers or what apps you install

Also I own FF9 but only on android

Erebor became the gay scene of middle-earth as years went on, drawing men & women from all over the world to the lonely mountain.

Also another funny image I found.

I’m sorry to say this is untrue - in part.

Elves as a long lived race are frequently characterised by their aloof detachment, flitting between interests by whatever strikes their fancy for the next hundred years or so before they get bored and move on.

Dwarves, however, are instead characterised by mastery of their craft - true dedication to a single purpose, to become not merely a specialist, but a paragon. It therefore stands to reason that, somewhere out there, there is a dwarf who has dedicated themselves to perfecting heterosexual romance, in the same way one might perfect art or smithing.

They’ve started mixing with the northern grizzly population as the two are still close enough to produce fertile offspring

The only apple thing I ever owned was a ipod nano all the way back in school

and the only apple thing I will one day own is my cousin’s old ipad
just for procreate and so I can draw while not leaving the bed
and I’m not gonna pay a single cent for that

We’re in for some chunky bears then, but hybrids are still not always having the means to survive and most are infertile :pensive:

Headcanon accepted!

huh

These hybrids aren’t sterile, so it’s funky white/brown bear time
Also according to wikipedia all recorded wild instances of this share the same polar bear mother

Interesting, but if it’s from the same mother bear (hah) then it likely won’t be a continueing trend and will eventually either a) die out or b) become its own species down the line.

Admittedly these statistics are skewered by North Korea’s extreme isolation and lack of access to most international brands — I assume Apple entered some kind of deal with the government to allow surveillance and censorship measures to be installed on their devices.

So this is a bit like saying that Vatican City has 2.3 Popes per square kilometer.

Fun random fact in regards to this. NK still owes the swedish state roughly 236 million euro because of a trade deal.

in the 1970’s, Volvo saw it as a rising market and managed to get the two states to strike a deal for North Korea to import their swedish cars. Over a thousand Volvos were then shipped to Pyonyang, however following the delivery, North Korea never paid and still refuses to do so. Volvos were a common sight in the capitol for decades until the late 2010s, but has since then declined because they lack the parts to repair them.

Funnily enough iphones are apparently illegal in North Korea.
It’s pretty obvious who’s owning these phones there…

I know quite a few people, my dad included, who are Apple hardcore followers. In the sense that whenever a new iPhone drops they’re getting one, not necessarily so much with the other stuff they release like the vision pro.

Not just with Apple, but I’ve personally never really understood the trend of getting a new phone model(or other tech) the moment it’s released.

I like to use the stuff I have until it no longer works or cant be used for its purposes, and then replace it.

I’m on a contract so I wait until that ends and then upgrade to a new one after that.

Same.

I use a phone until it no longer supports the latest version of software I need, or until I lose it, or until it physically breaks. In the latter case I always get it repaired.

I used a Nexus 5X from 2016 until 2021, flashing custom ROMs after Google stopped releasing Android updates for it, until the motherboard corroded and I had to wait a long time for the replacement. And I would still be using my next phone, a Pixel 4a, if I didn’t have the misfortune to rapidly break the screen twice in a row. The first time it was quickly repaired but the second time the repairman had to wait a few days for the new screen to arrive.

(I still have all three phones in working condition, which helps if I need to use different SIM cards for things like verification codes.)

You can grab them off of amazon for like 150€
should also be something electronics sales stores have in stock these days when at a decentish size

I had some ancient HTC phone before getting my new Samsung whatever (picked from the free phones selection for screen size so I can read in bed without my glasses) from my new contract
the poor little HTC had to retire because the battery and memory were both rapidly dying and getting replacement parts was just not a reasonable option

where’s mine???
