I think I get it when it comes to ‘retiring’ from a fandom. There’s a lot of games that I have played and enjoyed only to find the associated fandom to be completely and utterly insufferable.
It’s definitely made me just abandon games complete especially when I learned that the developers were taking cues from social media as opposed to actual fans. A good example of what I mean is when there’s a character who is particularly complex who inevitably ends up reduced to one, singular surface level trait that is then vastly overplayed in every single scene from that point onwards.
Sounds similar to situations I’ve had, usually if Rhineland is denied Germany overthrows Mustache Man and they have a civil war. Italy has been wild since they added the approval mechanics for Mr SI SI SI, its like a sitcom at times. I like that Paradox is dipping into the community veins of weirder “what ifs” and the like more lately.
The base game can get dry soon but there’s plenty of mods that are fun. Road to 56 keeps the general historical vibe nicely but then you have your Man in the High Castle inspired mods, Kaiserreich and then the utter insanity of Red Flood, or in short - “what if no one won World War 1.”
Millennium Dawn is(was) fun as well, its just crammed with so much bloat that it crashes too much these days.
More the case that its mechanics are botched and he’s doomed the second italy loses territory, saddled with an unsalvagable debuff. Then it predictably goes to civil war sooner or later, the part of italy with any decency joins the allies and then goes democratic in victory, ousting the king before slowly going communist by way of passive influence from the rebel focus tree.
Truly, the best you can do for italy is to dismantle it into republics and city states once more, letting the rump state with all the real problems sort itself.
Omen suck.
Yeah, horrific and tragic backstory bro, but as someone who also got treated badly by The Order, you being a horrendously aggressive and stupidly damaging attacker despite the stats and armour I have? Yeah, you’re MAKING this my problem, that’s entirely on you now expire already!!
Seriously. Toxic legacy of the Capra demon is alive and well…
Big enemy that swings too fast, hits too hard and is always in stupidly cramped environments.
I don’t care, they suck. Royal Omen are absolute and whoever let then through QA needs a slap.
(As does whoever let enemies just bypass a blocking greatshield due to wonky and broken hitboxes)
Edit: and now Im dealing with angry midgets with Destined Death weapons.
A lot of peope really venting toxicity on those NOT responsible for their tragic backstories here.
I’m usually fine, and have enough bolus’ to deal with the odd incident.
It’s just the principle of the thing. I’ve tried playing the game tactically and with diverse abilities and even then it just keeps trolling and bullying me.
So now it gets Brute Forced, and its going to have to deal with it.
(Twin Omenkiller Cleavers at +18 and the crit HP regain talisman are pretty brutal )
A good many months ago, I put in a preorder on amazon dot com for the first light novel of the Apothecary Diaries because it’s finally got an English translation.
Despite putting in this preorder well in advance, amazon then repeatedly delayed the dispatch of it well past its release date.
Last week, they finally said “hey, we’re sending it, congrats on saving money because of the preorder thing”. Then a day later they said “uhhhh actually there’s a problem, if it doesn’t arrive by Friday, it’s probably not happening” and then on Friday the said “yeah it’s not happening”.
So on Saturday, I went on ebay, clicked the top listing, and it arrived this morning.
Amazon built itself up from the ground as a seller of books, and now they can’t even do that much.
