Pet peeves: The return (Part 7)

Because everything is eventually destined to evolve into a crab. We are all on various stages of the crab path.

The hand-waved explanation is that the event that brought everyone there connected worlds that seemed to share similarities. Alternate realities almost.

Even the monsters are mostly humanoid in nature.

They all evolved from a group of dimension jumping time traveling apes.

That will become crabs. Somehow.

Even funnier when there’s literally a world in which the last species that survived & evolved past their actual cataclysm is infact “Sand Crabs”.

:crab:

does it help if I say a bunch of humans in the Forgotten Realms also can trace their lineages back to Earth, specifically to (seperately) Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Ireland.

Humans did already exist, as part of the Imaskar Empire, and then when a plague hit the Imaskari were like “okay we need fresh blood, time to open a portal and kidnap a bunch of other humans to help beef up the population again”

The Aen’elle , the Wild Hunt ones, are also invaders from another world. When Ciri is about to flee their clutches, the unicorn that accompanies her first shows her a sea of bones of human-like creatures, and tells her that the Aen Elle slaughtered them, and hence why they must never gain the power to move between worlds again.

The Aen Seidhe in the witcher’s world are , if the books are to be believed, also visitors from elsewhere, but arrived a thousand years before the humans. The dwarf that tells this to Ciri says that apparently the gnomes were the first living beings in their part of the known world.

Humans in Witcher come from actual Earth. Ciri visited London once.

I mentioned that earlier, atleast the visiting part. I just wasn’t sure about the humans being actually from earth but, maybe that was just Avall’ach being an :eggplant: when he said the humans first wrecked their own world. But it’s confirmed the humans are from actual earth then?

Yep! A bunch of humans got accidentally phased over to The Continent during a Conjunction of the Spheres. They brought their culture with them, which grew and developed over centuries, which is why you have the Skelligers who for example still worship some of the Norse gods and have their idea of Ragnarok.

Regarding WoW, my general belief (and thus the correct one) is that elves resemble humans/gnomes/dwarves because of the Titanic nature of the Well of Eternity, warping them from trolls into elves. The shift from night elf → high elf doesn’t compute to me so well, but that’s just how it goes.
