Dunno if I’m hearing things or not but I swear I’m hearing Xal’ataths voice actor in a number of NPC in tww. I’m not sure if that’s just blizzard using her, subtle forshadowing or me just hearing things.

It’s really not helped that she did voice a number of side voices in SL and DF.

Dio Brando from JJBA and Bobobo from bobobo-bo bo-bobobo are voiced by the same guy.

Btw that are the jp VAs.
English dubbed bobobo and Jonathan Joestar iirc have the same VA

Once I’ve done one ‘got everything’ run of Elden Ring, I’m genuinely not touching the DLC aside from “Oh, I really want item X”.

Enemies are so much :ox: :poop:
So much wonky terrain/pathing.
Scadu fragment system is awful.

I’m tired and cranky and I have to go into work STUPID early tomorrow on keys, while most people get basically a day off because Reasons, AND I have a meeting for the stupid NVQ and the REALLY STUPID ‘End Point’ thing they bolted on, AND I have physio again.

I hate today. I hate this week. I hate having to pretend to be a Normal And Functioning Human Being In A Perfectly Normal Society - it isn’t, I’m not, I’m exhausted and I want to scream at people and society for being petty and broken and FREAKING STUPID.

oh for some reason i always assume eng dio when people say same VA coz of how widespread and distinct his JP one is

In my experience so far (only gotten as far as Hallowfall) every zone’s campaign takes 1-2 hours, with the most common report being that people tend to finish the War Within’s levelling campaign within roughly six hours.

However, this short campaign also comes with a small amount of experience, as doing exclusively campaign quests only takes you as far as level 76, or so I’ve heard. Having heard this, I decided to do a whole bunch of optional side-quests in the zone that I’ve enjoyed the most so far, which has been a pleasant experience.

Speaking of zones, I’ve found that the further into the expansion you go, the better the zones are. No idea if this holds true for Azj-Kahet but so far…

  • Isle of Dorn: 4/10. The environment is uninspired, the voiced earthen are grating to listen to, their culture failed to engage me whatsoever and I wasn’t used to the pacing at this point, so the story went so fast that I failed to care about anything that happened. I think by the end, I was annoyed by how dull this zone was.
  • Ringing Deeps: 6/10. Environment’s neat but not too special, the earthen start to become interesting, kobolds are fun too if a little one-dimensional, the story still went too quickly for my taste but it was of acceptable quality and had a few cute character moments in it. I enjoyed my time here, but it was still too short and rushed.
  • Hallowfall: 8/10. There is a huge amount of obvious love and care put into the environment, the culture, the characters, everything to do with this zone. The story is still a little rushed, but the vibes here are fantastic. It has soul that has been absent from the game ever since BFA, maybe even Legion.

Right now, I’m just doing Hallowfall side-quests so that I’ll reach 80 during Azj-Kahet’s campaign, but I’m genuinely enjoying myself in the process. I’m still a little peeved about the absence of anything remotely Horde-themed, but that won’t stop me from appreciating what we’ve been sold.

I do feel a little weird though. I’ve come across a lot of vitriol and strong opinions about this expansion but now that I’m experiencing it for myself, I just can’t bring myself to feel as strongly. It has its flaws, especially concerning the Isle of Dorn and the pacing of the campaign, plus more personal complaints like how grating the voice direction is. I just struggle to understand the people who have such strong feelings about this expansion.

Maybe I’ve just grown out of getting angry about video games, or maybe my centrism has become too strong and is subsuming any personality that I once had.

I knew this was going to kick in when Blizzard pushed out their second or third trailer that ends with a smirking Xal’atath staring at the camera. It was cool in the first trailer, now they’ve overdone it to the point where people will justifiably get sick of it due to overexposure.

I’ve only watched one trailer, but its all over the advertising plus I’ve done the campaign and I’m just… fed up of seeing it.

So, I keep hearing this… is the dude -actually- as dirty as people make him out to be, or is he just acting as if he’s a follower of Nurgle?

Guy makes enough money not to care.

We don’t have any reason to believe it is just a public persona. Everything we know - which, frankly, is too much sometimes - indicates that he is just the grottiest person on the planet, by choice.
