And the head mod of their sub-reddited introduced a new banner that was promiting diversity and queer identity. The reception from the larger parts of the community was very volatile. Along with alot of âNo Politics, no wokeâ nonsense.
I WILL concede that things like the Scarab Lord title and mount that goes with it should remain unavailable, THAT is different to a game-mode everyone can play at any time.
Obviously politics vary from person to person, even when youâre zoomed in on just a segment of the political spectrum, but arenât a lot of white supremacy/neo-nahtsee types against globalization and multiculturalism? Surely being on a language app is promoting globalism and diversity - unless literally all of them want to read Minecraft in itâs original German text?
When I was still on Duolingo (pre âai is teaching you now :))â ) a lot of the people in my âleagueâ or whatever they call it, were learning languages (usually English) from Arabic, so Iâm not too surprised a huge chunk of its userbase would be mad about ideas such as âgay people deserve equal rightsâ and âeveryoneâs equal no matter the colour of your skin or your sex :)â

Yes. Mostly because all the moderate requests to address some of the problems of globalization and multiculturalism have gone to deaf ears by the politicians for the past 25 years or so.

I do know that they also got a influx of people targeting them because Russia declared Duolingo âLGBT propagandaâ due to some of the language courses including male avatars saying things like âI have a boyfriendâ in language classes, and were considering banning the app.

well yeah but Iâm simply saying Iâm not surprised because Duolingo is broadly used across the globe and a majority of people across the globe would fall into this category unfortunately
