I wish I could’ve been a fly on the wall so I could hear the dev who was like ‘haha it’s like her heart was broken’ and then turn back into a human and beat them to death
Also though it’s not really the point I don’t really appreciate Golden having Sylvanas impaled by Frostmourne but still finding time to think “damn Arthas really is a hottie though”.
Casual reminder that they also changed it so that instead of going down fighting properly, she did a random powerslide right into Frostmourne itself without Arthas even lifting it.
Look, it’s priorities.
he’s a soft white boy with blonde hair, how could we do anything less
If Sylvanas lived in modern society, she would be one of those DBD girls who unironically thirsts after the killers when they Mori(the name for the kill animations) you.
Why did Gul’dan create Death Knights out of the corpses of Stormwind Knights only to have them not wear any armour
WC2 Knight has Armour 4(/6/8 with upgrades)
WC2 Death Knight has Armour 0, same as Alliance mage.
is he stupid
“How do StarCraft Lurkers actually do their attack” is a funny question to ask because you do not question it and it looks really cool but the second you try to think about how it sends that line of spikes across your brain breaks
Gul’dan just likes undead muscle men without armor or shirts.
Don’t judge him.
Googling the question lead me to this

which provides some artistic ideas
I think the ‘gas bag’ version is the one that ends up making the most sense but yeah, now that I think about it, it doesn’t really make any sense…
Corruptors fly by having so much cancer inside them that it warps gravity
The closest thing I can think of is, during Wings of Liberty campaign when you look into the Zerg part of upgrading your troops, one of the upgrades mentions Stetmann learning that the reason Zerg can move underground so fast is because they have multitudes of tiny vibrating muscles that essentially allow them to ‘swim’ underground.
The lurker can probably just do that even faster and then have the spikes shoot up.
Ofcourse it still doesn’t make sense since ground displaced still needs to be left somewhere but eh.
It invariably becomes ‘well maybe it does it by doing X’, like vibrating ground or large tentacles, then you ask ‘but why would it use X to shoot spikes instead of [wildly more effective thing X could do]’ and your brain breaks again
Like, if a lurker can turn solid concrete into quicksand it could sink half a siege tank’s treads into the ground and then microwave the crew
It’s too bug-brained to be smart enough to do that, so it just does bug things like eating things and making bug noises.
Zerg very rarely actually eat stuff - their job is to kill things so that the Creep (a sort of carpet of fungus) can digest it and send it back to the hive to grow more zerg
If I can’t be in control of the dudes that eat other dudes then I will relinquish control of my dudes.
Etsy not being able to search for specific terms inside categories is absolutely baffling website/market design.
If, hypothetically, this conversation had spurred me to look up Zerg tabletop miniatures, I have two options.
I can either comb through the entire Role Playing Miniatures category (ridiculous, unworkable) or I can search for Zerg, which will give me everything under the sun with that term.
Searching “Zerg miniature” doesn’t alleviate the problem either; it’s still offering me t-shirts, keychain tokens, paintings, and other wall decor on the first page of results.
Pretty sure that’s the plot of Heart of the Swarm right there
I admittedly never actually played any of Starcraft’s story modes, I just faffed around in the mutliplayer and mostly died (a lot)
Outside of a baffling decision at the end of Legacy of the Void, the SC1+2 stories are solid enough and the missions - especially in SC2 - are some peak RTS gameplay. There’s even a great SC2 mod (Mass Recall) that lets you play SC1 (including bonus missions) in SC2’s engine.
Alas, I’m pretty sure all the RTS talent attached to Blizz is gone, so even if a hypothetical SC3 came about with some new story, I’m not sure it would live up to its predecessors.
I do hope one of the AA options for Blizzardforge is a starcraft one, just to showcase just how scary the zerg are
a zergling looks like a cute lil dog until you see them in cinematics and realise that if you’re not in foot-thick power armour they can and will jump at you and through the other side without losing momentum
Hydralisks will always bother me because they are the zerg’s primary ranged unit and they are built to be ambush melee predators, basically warhammer raveners with the serial numbers filed off
