Set up Idira with a warp minds build where she just spams 1-cost psyker powers to debuff all enemies, only to watch her immediately kill herself turn 1 when her unsanctioned-ness goes “whoops lol now you’re dead”.
Entire party is fine, meanwhile she’s nursing a smashed skull, cracked rib, broken leg. I even gave her a backpack item that says “if you’d die, you don’t, once per combat” but of course that doesn’t work on warp anomalies…
Doing a cybersecurity course, get asked to write down types of cybercrime and effects on people
Make a bullet point list, get told ‘make it a poster, put some pictures in there’ so I just put a picture of Mr Robot as Hackerman in the top right corner and changed nothing else
primary reason i really stop using her the moment I have more companions , getting perils’d in a big fight at low levels where she accidentally summons a screamer of tzeentch in a big fight just feels lame and like an instant restart of that fight
Now Kibellah, on the other hand, there’s a woman (good lord everything around her just dies immediately)
I didn’t think much of her initially but her heroic moment ability is kinda insane for burst damage. Still probably not using her quite right too.
Cassia’s still probably stronger (luv me fishwife) but Kibellah brings a welcome amount of pain, as is appropriate.
The next DLC is apparently just adding Judge Dredd to your party (Adeptus Arbites). I’m a little sad we’ve ended up with what’s probably going to be two Dogmatic DLC companions but not really surprised.
I’ve heard you can get Kibellah to go full Khornate, but I’ve not much of an interest in a chaos run.
I’m quite interested in the quests that’ll come with the Arbitrator; I feel like a lot of the things you deal with throughout the game are things that overlap with their interest, and what they’ll do to make his stuff different. It’ll be great for the base game content, regardless, if he’s as integrated throughout as well as Kibellah is.
I think the more Dogmatic options are the most sensible to add to the roster as is; there’s already two aliens, and I feel any other additions would be relatively niche like Marazhai is, and there’s several Iconoclasts already of different flavours (Abelard and Jae). Cassia, Pasqal, and Ulfar are a little more difficult to fit in on the alignments presented. Argenta and Heinrix are the Dogmatic ones, obviously, but frankly I think both are kind of boring.
I really like the choice of Dogmatic DLC companions; like Abelard and Jae (woefully underdeveloped though imo) they’re vastly different characters in right about every way who fit on that particular slice of the alignment system, with the Arbitrator almost certainly being a by-the-book lawman vs. Kibellah being a deranged murderer-mystic.
I also realize I’m a little biased in that Kibellah’s probably the perfect companion for me; I love Death Cult Assassins and play one in a Dark Heresy game right now.
I just want my orc freeboota or ogryn or kroot hunter or all of the above.
Also while I’m still in Act 1 of my DLC replay (having only just reached Footfall again) I hope that they have added more Act 3-5 introductions by Abelard. I was sorely frustrated how those disappeared as the game progressed.
I don’t think an Ogryn would be interesting as a companion at all tbh, unless it’s like the Super Special Ogryn That’s Super Different From All The Other Ogryns who actually has the ability to have a story arc
Every single one of my current companions has at least a modicum of intellect, which means if I want the token idiot it needs to be me. Ogryn (or ork) would let me foist the “lovable idiot” trope onto them instead. They’d be the Nenio of the-
You know what, nevermind, maybe we don’t need one after all.
