PI- remove it or keep it

Bellular’s recent video on Power Infusion, agree or disagree?

As a Discipline Priest I say keep it.

I pop PI on a tanks during Mythic Plus runs but only on boss fights.

Thought…

I think you’re doing it wrong if you pop it on tanks.

Also, I don’t know what Bellular said. Nor do I care.

Why pop a PI on a tank O_o

Make it a self cast only ability again.

Drama sorted…

So, like it or not is not super relevant. The issue is how strong it is. It’s been nerfed this expansion so it was becoming more manageable and not essential.
But, the Oracle hero talents are putting it on overdrive and it will hurt the game balance again.

The other healers would need utility that can rival it to be viable and really 1 minute PI up to 4 players with haste, damage increase and reduced cd is going absolutely bonkers.
We all know that not all healers will be able to rival with that so… it’s gonna have to get nerfed substantially.

So, the question becomes. Would you enjoy a weak PI that gives say 3% damage and haste? Cause i think at that point even if you are a fan, it will hardly be noticeable.
But that is where it will have to end up if Oracle is what we see.

So… think in those terms.
Might be interesting gameplay, but it will not be the mini-lust/hero it is now.

At its current iteration:
I say gut it and delete it.

Only because it gives haste and it is noticeable when a priest gives it to me. I do not think that an external should make your character feel better to play.

If they change it to just give % damage? Go ahead and tune it to be the most op thing ever, and contribute that damage to the priest while at it.

But at the moment, it feels like a haste proc (which is noticeable) that you only have when another player decides to give it to you, which I do not like.

This seems the simplest solution

My issue with PI is how necessary it is for certain classes. when classes that scale with PI well are doing well because of it and then get nerfed to the point where they feel horrible when you dont get it its just dumb.

PI shouldnt be removed, it should just go back to being selfcast so we can use it as a throughput cooldown again.

Keep it. I only cast it on myself anyway, because of my macro setup…

If you want haste so badly, go nudge a shammy for BL

PI should be kept as a throughput CD for the priest himself. With out penalty.

What should be removed is the ability to cast it on a person.

OR… better yet. That should you cast it to someone else, the person gets “satiated” debuf BL gives you. Because that’s what it is. A personal BL.

Or better yet. Just cut the middleman and give BL to priests. DONE.

PI as an external buff gives WAY to many balancing problems. And its one of those skills where either ALL get some, or NONE get some. I think there is already a massive utility bloat across all specs. So its time to choose NONE.

And while they are at it, they can delete Aug. Which is taking PI and making it a whole spec. And remove those hero talents for priest in the next expa.

Utility and support skills… I am 100% for those, BUT, it has to be if and ONLY if throughput and survivability is perfectly balanced across all specs. Which is not the case, and never will be.

So better to remove it.

It’s awesome and i like giving it to others. :dracthyr_shrug:
If anyone feels like they are entitled to buffs the problem is their own though.

So you would also argue to remove augmentation evokers and in general support classes again?

A lot of priests sell it to the highest bidder, even in raid teams, others just give it to their mates. Unless they have set instructions on who to give it to.

I’ve never particularly liked PI on my priests, it sort of has felt tacked on since the start, and whoever ‘deserves’ it most I’ve always found a very annoying discussion. I’d be perfectly alright with self buff only, or removal of the whole thing tbh, even if it is obviously a nice self cd. I don’t know, just never been a fan of it.

please ignore anything that man talks about
