Here’s a general question. As I’m slowly leveling my Rogue together with my mage friend. We were talking. I usually build my talents based on the back story of my character. (roleplay)
In that spirit, both my friend and I have been struck by what appears to have been a false memory. Both he and I were convinced that there used to be a talent. Be it in vanilla tbc or wotlk. That would enhance pickpocketing. I even recall what it did. Increase range.
So my question is. Was there never really a pickpocket talent? Perhaps during a beta?
A tip, you probably already know, but how you will always be in range for pickpocketing and never have to really think about it. Make a Macro on your opening move and inject Pickpocketing in there.
I have it on my ambush, so every mob with pockets that I ambush, gets pickpocketed.
This is a really good tip. I know people are saying “it fails for no reason sometimes!” is probably because they’re opening with a cheap shot or something or they’re not close enough for a pickpocket.
This macro has really increased how many lockboxes I get and how much loose change I make in questing.
You can’t use pickpocket whilst moving. The only reason it fails is because you need to be fully stationary before pick-pocketing. You have to walk up to the mob, stop, then press your Macro. You only have to stay still for a moment. Since I’ve been doing this it works every time unless resisted.
