I know classic quest might be annoying sometimes, I even like it but I think that I am in the middle of a “bugged” situation. Yesterday evening I started this quest at the Crossroads and simply and fast looted 5/7 breaks. Today I think I killed like hundred of them around (every kind) and I still have 5/7 breaks. What the hell, can someone help me? EDIT: I HAD QUEST ITEMS IN MY BANK SO ALWAYS CHECK IT AND NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. Thanks all for help
Make sure you’re not in a raid group and keep grinding
Just bad luck dude, as Dory would say, just keep swimming! I had the same thing with the satyr horn quest in Ashenvale, literally took me like 3 hours. Then I redid this quest on an alt recently and did it in about 30 mins. Yes I was bitter!
Literally worst drop rate in entire game I swear. Quite normal to have to kill 100+ don’t worry. You’ll get there.
Pretty ableist to assume all of them have beaks…
But just wait until you come to the animals who dont have a heart, now thats a birth defect I would like an explonation for…
Also be very sure you are killing the right types. There’s several versions and the quest probably requires a specific type.
I do remember it took me quite long too though. It reminded me of the Zhevra hooves quest on Vanilla, but those I got in no time in Classic. Maybe they switched places,
In certain contexts it can make sense; e.g. if you’re fetching livers for a cooking quest, and you brutally murder an an animal and beat it to a pulp, makes sense that their organs aren’t retrievable in a state appropriate for cooking with.
Zhevra hooves take longer… Download questie to make sure you’re attacking the right ones, it really doesn’t take long at all.
A relog is often very helpful.
I had to kill like 50 matriarch / patriarch yetis for 2 pristine horns the other day
Just how it is
- Make sure you are not in a raid
- Make sure you don’t have any quest items in bank.
- Make sure you are killing the right mob.
It’s not the oddest drop in the game, I have killed spiders on teldrassil for legs and they have none. I mean they have 8 so surely I haven’t damaged them all by attacking it.
So many things that should drop don’t like worg hearts, don’t these things have hearts? Zhevra hooves are the same.
The Dustwallow Murloc quest immediately springs to mind (remind me again why a head isn’t a 100% drop?).
It just takes you out of the game completely when quest mobs don’t drop things like heads 100% of the time or other vital organs.
Because you bashed their skulls in, obviously
Quest items are not any old head, brain ct. They need to be whole and not too grimy either. Imagine the quest giver going like: “You call that lump of bashed meat a Murloc head? I cannot even see if it’s a head or a rump. Come back with a head I can recognize as such, [class]!”
Because you bashed their skulls in, obviously
But then why do named mobs always drop the head/limb/bodypart you need?!
It doesn’t make sense!
WHY DO NONE OF THESE ZEHVRAS HAVE HOOOOOVES?!
No, it does not. Well. … Maybe that part of him/her/it is somehow enchanted - it even duplicates itself if we group up and all have that Quest.
Have you seen how a Zehvra attacks? You are sure to hit the hooves
#basaliskbrains says hi
A guildie back in the day called it COTLI, Curse Of The Last Item.
You sir are a genius and a life saver, I had these 4 items in bank because I was in the middle of a class crisis and I was also not so sober when I put them in there. Thank you very much!
