Player Housing: What would you like to build?

I very much hope that Preach’s proposal to the devs of letting people save their builds, and switch between them, will be a thing. Then I wouldn’t have to choose and could just keep on creating stuff for personal roleplay as well as events.

HOLY MOLY!!!

The trade off seems to be the larger the decoration the more of these slots itll use but thats still a massive amount

That makes sense.

Given that 10,000 is also their “starting limit” it sounds like its just the initial limitation they’re going with whilst they figure out a way to increase it?

I’m largely just trying to keep in mind that Ion has been really clear that the tech required to make any of this work has been an ongoing effort since, apparently, 2016 at the earliest according to Ion himself and that for almost 10 years they just literally could not make it work in WoW without destroying a lot of the original codebase which you obviously cannot really do when live-shipping a feature.

Big up to the Dev who apparently found a way to skirt around the major issues though, that must’ve been 9 years of hell on earth.

I’ve had the idea of making an ‘apartment’ complex for my characters. The landing would be central OOC ‘portal’ hub, a la The Caverns of Time, leading to places that’re ICly disparate in theme and location.

Nah they just hired Kevin who sorted it in a month.
Kevin can do anything. Even be Kevin. Great guy.

Honestly? I want to live in a mage-tower, not amazingly big, but a small circular room with a staircase leading down to the entrance.

I reckon we’ll find out a lot more about player housing, especially the neighbourhoods, at the Gamescom Midnight reveal. Bits are slowly trickling their way to the PTR as well…

I know I should not be so hyped. BUT I AM SO HYPED!

I am not invested in houses at all, but I might dedicate mine to whatever my guild or friends could need for an event.

Your feelings on the neighbourhoods so far? As a player who isn’t in a guild while most of my friends are, wonder what I’ll do in regards to choosing a neighbourhood…

I like the privacy setting options though. As for Endeavors, I hope those are something that can be tied to Traveler’s Log progress at the same time rather than be a separate grind.

I feel like this is sort of exactly the use case for Charter Neighbourhoods. I think a lot of RPers will end up in a Charter Neighbourhood I say as someone who tends to be in 1-3 small guilds of under 10 players.

I just worry most of my friends are in guilds big enough for them to have their own guild neighbourhood, but fingers crossed I’ll find some people in the community to tag along with!

I love that your house is saved after demolishing. Once new housing areas come, it will be super easy to move your house to them if they suit the player better.

The problem I see with private neighborhoods in terms of RP is that they will be limiting to an extent as you can only have one house per faction. So, people who are in more than one guild, or those who RP actively with other players outside of their guild will have to make a hard choice between house with their guild and house where they can freely invite whoever they want.

Tentatively positive!

Honestly this is the one achille’s heel for me.

What my tauren would live in and what my orc would live in are two VERY different things. And I am doubtful it will be akin to Wildstar which had HUGE plots you could custom build stuff on.

Yeah, this was a bit of a disappointment.

I was really hoping to build my own private place with no neighbours, but it looks like its not gonna be possible.

Not a fan of the endeavor thing either.

If you’re in a small guild or have a small group of friends, you can probably set one up and just set each other up miles away. The plots sound pretty damn big and they mention many being quite isolated.
