The toxicity is a problem for the WoW playerbase. And funneling people into “safe” places does not solve this problem, that was my point. Of course I don’t like toxicity but I can live with it, but most people can’t. And it’s hurting WoW.
Sooner or later something has to be done about it and has been put off so many times throughout the years… A start would be a putting M+ into the dungeon finder. If you want to be PAWG, you can still make your own custom group of “superheroes” but for anyone else more humble and focused on the task, there would be a second option. Because from what I am seeing toxicity has reached new heights since Legion. But I digress.
The OP I suppose was referring to Runed crests from delves. But it also applies to Guilded crests.
If someone wants to go to Paris, offering a pair of sneakers is not the way to get there. Yes, you technically can use them to go there, but when people are driving cars and some even flying, something is not right.
Crests that are used for upgrading gear that drops in any content should drop from said content. And currently in delves, we have sneakers (Runed) and a lottery ticket in hand in hopes of a fancy pair (Guilded). Trying to go to Paris.

If it is essential for WoW, then they’ll have to. And they know it. And nothing is being done, so I guess it is not that essential now, is it ?
Who are you to tell me what apps I should use on my PC ? Hm ? This goes both ways.
The thing is, that “solo-players” in my experience just happen to be more toxic and negative. They also happen to be worse at the game, and achieve way less, while playing more hours. So of course, if you want a positive multi-player experience, try to find communities. I’m sure also team-speak communities exist, if you dislike discord
That has been my philosophy for years. During Dragonflight I had at most full veteran gear, with a couple of champion pieces here and there I got from World Bosses and/or Timewalking weekly quests.
And that was fine… it was my choice and my own limitations. When I am no longer able to upgrade my gear within the content I enjoy doing, I lose interest - and there’s nothing wrong with that in my opinion.
M+ is garbage and Discord is even worse, if they werent the participation rates would be high but… LOL
Also at this rate WoW playerbase will dethrone League’s swamp of toxic community.
Nobody is asking for hand outs. Maybe make T9/T10/T11, whatever, drop more crests, hm ?
Make it fair. As it is now, our “trivial” content ends halfway through. Apparently because we don’t deserve it, if you look around the forum…
Forcing people into the other two “pillars” is not an option. We had the same debate back when M+ launched and raiders went highwire.
No. M+ players already get showered in loot and rewards compared to any other type of player. The worst type of content doesn’t need more goodies. If you do that, you only pressure raiders more into doing M+, as their weekly crest gain is capped
No healer or tank would que up… Why would they? We already see a healer/tank shortage, now imagine they have to que with completely random people without any say in it?
Have you seen the Solo Shuffle state? It was meant to be the savior of LFG, the endless waiting as a dps, to log on and que up, have fun… In reality? Toxicity was so bad, healers just didn’t want to que… 40-60+ mins of wait time, and people are still making posts of toxicity and bans…
What you’re going to end up with is a fresh wow player that just want to have fun and do low keys (their level) and some random gigachad on his 11th alt climbing and flaming people for doing wrong pulls, kicking tanks for being “noobs” or “Too low DPS”…
Blizzard tried to combat the toxicity with a social contract, and by all means, is it really needed? We’re all adults playing a game… But yet somehow, some people are so into pixels that they feel talking down to another person is okay. Can Blizzard do something about this? I doubt it.
What can we as players do? Well, we can organize is friendly communities / guilds where “we make the rules”.
Some of them use both in game and third party apps to organize and have stuff going. But having M+ in dungeon finder will be Solo Shuffle v2
Whatever the limit is, people will always complain. It’s the same thing every time.
The upgrade tracks are really nice instead of static gear levels IMO but it does bring out this kind of issue with people unwilling to do the content necessary to upgrade.
Maybe , I was just throwing ideas, I am not the one to ask for anything M+ related as I don’t do it.
But this cannot continue (or at least should not), it is only getting worse over the years, precisely because there is nothing being done about it. There has to be a way.
Oh, that’s fine then! Delves are great for the game, as it’s a genuine space for genuine solo content, and not for “solo” content, if that makes sense. Though, I think it interferes too much with normal and heroic mode raiding
And why should they ? If a Veteran gear drops and I am expected to upgrade it, I expect the crests needed to drop where I found that Veteran piece. Same with Hero.
You don’t expect M+ enjoyers to go Mythic raiding to upgrade their gear ? That would be fun to watch…
Why are delvers expected to go raiding or M+ to upgrade and progress then ?
It’s a feeder into the next difficulty. It’s up to you if it’s something that interests you and you have made it abundantly clear it does not interest you.
