For alts, the only way to really get crests for higher ilvl’s is from the vault and then if you’re past the need of lower level crests, can upgrade those up but ye you do need 90 of them which is a grind of its own.

Open world contributes to the vault, they made Delves for open world players. We have upgrade tracks that everyone at all levels benefits from because they can get the gear up higher via the content that they do. If they want to go beyond that they can choose to step up or they can say nah I’m good I’m done.
The doomposting and hyperboles need to stop.

Transmog last the entire game though.
When I die I can leave my account to a family member and they can use all the cool stuff I got. They aren’t going to care about loot from TWW, even if I die soon. By next patch 639 gear will be worthless.
Open World contributions are good for just unlocking the slots.
If you want the slots to have meaningful upgrades, you must run the 8 T8 delves (or higher) because it depends on the lowers entry of the top 8 entries you did.

I guess it depends on your perspective, I see gear as a means to an end to clear challenging content in the company of peers and friends. I do enjoy getting stronger but it’s in order to do something, and every time we get the opportunity to get ever stronger a new reason to get stronger comes out.
The experience was always the thing that was “worth it”, never the gear.
I view gear the same way, I want gear to get the M+ robot mount in the easiest way possible. I’m getting my tank army to the maximum possible level they can be (619) so it’s as easy as it can be.
I’m anticipating nerfs or movement where crests drop after the anniversary buzz has died down a little.
It’s a long-term play, at the end a bunch of losers who missed the robot mount will be being nice to me so they can inherit it.
