Didn’t quiet expect a proper reply anways given your last one, but have a good one! <3
Yup, learnt that today about Guilded (after you reach 619(, thought it capped out at Runed. But no way to get Runed, other than the 2 per delve + 45 per week if you give up your GV.
That’s a maximum of 15 Guilded per week + RNG Jesus. For a lot of delves. For 1 upgrade per week… On one piece of gear…
And if you need Runed to upgrade, even if you give up your vault, you’d upgrade what, 3-4 times ? Basically 1 item per week. We have 14 items on us…
Maybe S2 we get delves T11+ that drop Guilded. That would help but I doubt we will.
Some problems cannot be fixed so easily or at all. As Clawcious desperately tried to point out.
Only way for Blizzard to make people “nice” is to literary send hitmen squads to every players house and take their family hostage and make them write “nice and friendly things” on a computer. The same example about dictators which Clawcious also pointed out.
oh thats true.
but if blizzard suddenly changes the rules of game and people who could gear up to level X for past 8 years suddenly find it a horrible experience due to most recent changrs that literlay nobody asked for ?
then its just horribly bad game deisgn .
but then we are talking about blizz - company while let go lead designer responsible for most engaging modes and additions to game inlast 5 years.
corporate is corporate - only excel spreedsheet matters.
Sure. Mistakes which been left ignored for a longer while are always more painful to finally rectify…
But they can still gear up exactly the same. Nothing has been taken away. It’s that they don’t want to step into the next thing or do the slow grind.
well I’m also on the side of not wanting to step into M+.
Wrote that before, I am simply fed up with the toxicity of people.
But I am more than happy with the slow grind through the token conversion
For delves to be content of comparable reward to higher m+ and raiding they would need to provide comparable challenge to higher m+ and raiding. Even T11s don’t even scratch the surface of that despite being overtuned (and subsequently badly designed) by the difficulty metrics they can present. Delves as content fundamentally lack several aspects of difficulty present and necessary in higher content even beyond the need to group with other players.
But the playerbase delves are aimed at don’t want that, so I think they’re fine as is. They offer more progression than world / solo content ever has, as well as more difficulty, but stop short of attempting to match higher content for a reason.
I don’t expect anything for nothing, or ask for rewards that are disproportionate to the effort, but as a principal there should be a pathway to fully upgrade rewards gained from legitimately doing a certain pillar of content by doing that same content at a higher [harder] level, e.g. crest drop from solo ?? level Zek’Vir or add higher tiers of delves.
It’s not a problem for me, as when I hit a block I swap to a new alt, but ultimately it will be frustrating.
Everything that relies on addiction does this though.
Create addicts, lower the potency of the dose then up the price when the addict no longer has a will of their own.
If you’re upset just stop playing the game. I always think it’s insane how much people care about WoW loot. It’s easier to be absolutely jacked, shredded and rich IRL than it is to get WoW loot.
Runed crests do drop from regular / bountiful T8 delves though, and there is a small amount of gilded from maps at t8. The gearing tracks are deliberately built with overlaps between content types to offer relevance to a player’s current gear as they branch from one to the next. While hero only branches 2 upgrades into myth, champion branches 4 into hero, and veteran branches 4 into champion. It’s the same all the way down.
You could ask this not being the case just so you don’t have to look at the 4/6 on your item but for most people that would result in lower ilvl across the board because those extra 2 levels on hero are not considered part of hero level gearing.
Delve vault could have easily just awarded 7/8 champion instead of 3/6 hero. It’s the same ilvl after all.
If you want delves to offer gear that’s competitive to +10 mythic keys, they need to make a tier that’s similar in difficulty to +10 mythic keys.
The fact delves make the entire first 6 levels of m+ pointless because of being a lot easier, yet offering the same gear, is itself an issue with the way that keys are balanced this season.
I’m all for more gear for more players, but it’s important the level of difficulty is roughly consistant across all the game modes.
A good system to create is the Brawler system ~ and Mage tower=Delve progress.
The Brawler system since Mop was showing the individual skill of each player.
While Mage Tower-Delve was also giving an freedom of doing aka-style dungeons -exploration while providing engaging content.
If they can merge those , i’m sure the difficulty especially on the higher tier 11-12-13 that is going to be in Second Season will justify the rewards giving to the players that are going to do them .
Also don’t forget that many reviews of the Delves come from Mythic Raider-M+ player that already overgear this content . ( Don’t forget the itemization that is pitiful in delve with all trinkets being stupidity bad and until now almost all my item that i got from delve come with Versatility = My Dk has reached 14% vers… and is one of the worse stats .)
Two of the best on rate trinkets for ilvl in the game come from delves, they just don’t compete with the extra 13 potential ilvl you can get from other sources.
Both the ritual knife and the candlestick are extremely good, though I suspect maybe not for mm hunters because of how bad haste is for them…
So why do every site rates them at C or D?And only like 3 of them. The rest are not even mentioned.
Also I have Contract something trinket from Lfr (veteran)that is way better than any of the trinkets from delves(champion).Hmm…
A yes , for me they Are like C or better B-.
Even a 593 ilvl hc was doing better than 2 trinket at 619 ilvl .
Yep, I’m grinding the runed crests at a couple per T8, but I see very, very few gilded. And, yes, it’s that 4/6 that bugs me, even though I charted the equivalencies. Maybe I’ve got OCD (but I won’t obsess about that).
It’s early days for delves and it will be interesting to see what the future brings. Personally I love them, as I can’t commit to regular guild run times, and I despise the drama that often comes with PUG’s. I think T8’s are a bit too easy to solo for what they get you, but I’m happy to take it. I’d still like a consistent way to get that 6/6 though, even though I want it to be tough.
Because they cap at 626 ilvl and the rating chart is evaluating everything at max possible ilvl.
The thing is I think through the framework of what delves are that simply isn’t possible. They simply lack a few key factors present in the content that consistently awards gilded crests, and make no attempt to emulate or replace them.
Scaling health / damage numbers isn’t a substitute for mechanical complexity or a need to optimise one’s damage / healing output in the way a higher dungeon or raid encounter does. And that’s without getting into the issue of difficulty created by consistency across multiple players or difficulty derived from coordination, or the mess that is tuning role agnostic content.
There’s probably a way to get there, but it’d take an enormous amount of effort from developers. Not to mention I doubt it’s what many people playing and enjoying delves even want.
Oh I guess I should add that once you have a 619 on every slot (Can be from crafting or upgraded gear) you unlock the ability to buy 15 gilded crests for 90 runed.
