Players who are Honorless Targets are now immune to Mind Control

I really hope this doesn’t affect Gnomish Mind Control Cap (it probably does).
MC cap is already difficult enough to get off considering both you and your opponent must be out of combat, PLUS it can backfire.

What even is the point of this change???

On PvP servers, people abused MC, specially near the blackrock mountains dungeon/raid entrances, to MC people back to the entrance in order to corpse camp them longer. I suppose they finally reap what they sow…

they messed up something else as well. today I got 12 kills In undercity, out of the 12 only 5 kills were counted on the honor tab, and from those 5 kills only 2 gave honor, so they def broke many unintended things with that last stealth nerf

We’re about to get P4. People abused MC in P2 untill battlegrounds came. I don’t see the point of them changing this now as it literally fixes nothing but instead nerfs a class ability and a PvP item for no reason. Or am I missing something?

Is this an official change or a request? If it’s official, hurray! About damn time I say. Can you give me one reason to MC a honorless target other than grief them?

For priests to defend themselves? It’s one of their abilities? Warriors should be immune to roots for the first 30sec aswell then?

Oh good point. I take it you prefer for raids of gankers to be able to MC people away from dungeon entrances so they can corpse camp them longer.

No, I prefer classes being able to use their spells

that’s not abusing it, that’s the whole point of the mechanic!

lmfao, it only took 4 months blizzard.

What’s honor got to do with it? The only real difference between how I acted in P1 versus P2 is that in P1 you’d feel guilty because if you attacked someone they didn’t fight back. When P2 hit, PvP was the norm regardless of honor.

Hardly anyone is ranking but literally everyone suffered in P2.

What exactly is that against the rules though?

MC is an ability, person used that ability.
Nothing against the rules.

Rest in peace MCing hordes off the cliff at Felwood’s FP, ability to kidnap a MT with enough priests at raid night and other shenanigans

YOGS did that to us back in 2005 on The Venture Co. EU, it was NOT a fun experience for the 39 people whose evening was ruined. I can understand why THEY would find it funny tho :no_mouth:

Honorless target is soneone who just ressed or got off the flight path. 99,9% of the times they aren’t being mindcontrolled for defense, but to grief them. Again I say, good riddence.

Why does it not surprise me that you like this change? Rofl.

Anyway, there don’t have to be any specific reason for mind controlling a honorless target, sometimes it can just be necessary in a pvp situation. You could ask the same question for pretty much any CC in the game:

Can you give me one reason to sap a honorless target other than grief them?
Can you give me one reason to sheep a honorless target other than grief them?
Can you give me one reason to fear a honorless target other than grief them?

This fix is nothing but a low effort attempt to fix something that hasnt been an issue since P2 since it was practically speaking already fixed. Changes like this one only makes the game (or gameplay) more clunky and dull, and ontop of that it is, yet again, another change that is not true to the actual vanilla expierence.

For all I care, no cc should apply to honorless targets, as long as the buff dissapears upon initiating combat. I’d go as far as making them blueshielded for 15 sec like inside Darkmoon Faire. Let them HS out of corpsecamping or if they land on a dead flight master and there’s 15 horde there, slavering.
Yea, this should have been done together with P2 release, but late is better than never in this case.

Why specifically mind control but not other CC? Is it because honorless target could be removed when the priest makes you hit something? Shouldn’t that be fixed instead then?

Correct me if I am wrong but I guess this change was made so ppl cant MC players out of BGs after they ress at gy and make them “deserters”.

Or they are someone you killed a few hours previously, back for revenge with consumes and pots

and you dont know the statisticts in the slightest you weirdo, you 99.9% made it up.
I kill priests all the time, never get MCed. Because it’s easy to avoid.
