The number of Zandalar Tribe RP-PvP are struggling massively over past few weeks. Several both small casual or larger semi-HC/HC guilds have either disbanded or are having major with recruitment.
Both Alliance and Horde alike.
As officer in one of the largest and longest standing guilds on the server I implore you, Blizzard, to (just as in US region) allow free migration from low-population servers to RP-PvP. There is ZERO reasoning, why in US region migration to RP-PvP should be allowed, while in EU region it is not!
This is official plea towards any Blizzard employee who may read this - our server will surely die before Phase 3 is out, unless we get a flow of new players coming here.
Zandalar Tribe, ever since the start of Classic, has been a place with many extraordinary players-written stories, let it be dramatic ones with happy ending (War Effort), dramatic ones with bad ending (several guilds disbanding over Naxxramas release) or good ones (both new and old guilds form with friends being reunited trough pre-patch and early weeks of TBCC).
Blizzard, do NOT let our server die! Give others the option to come have a stories of their own here, rather than towards overpopulated servers as Firemaw or Golemagg!
Thank you, should any Blizzard employees read this.
There is no any reason why ZT population could not be sustained from other servers.
The current list of transfers is ridiculous and shows there wasn’t any proper investigation prior to compiling it. Consistent disregard of players’ feedback shows no interest in people’s opinions or respect to the current BCC player base.
Sub cancelled, until the population problem is sorted.
Hard luck, they do not come here so your pleas are not being heard. Make a suggestion ingame or go to social media and be ignored there.
Also ZT is a medium population realm according to Blizzards list and Blizzard don’t care about faction population balance on any realm. There is also only one RP-PvP realm and they will not empty it even more.
As someone who has transferred to ZT with a part of their guild its very sad to see decline in activity. Coming from one of the most empty servers on EU dragonfang a bit after tbc release i know how it is to play on a Dead server, and i dont want to play on one again, but i also dont like “mega servers” with multiple layers that are so big you never recognize anyone.
If this can help with the population issue even in the slightest im all for it, i cant even see a reason as to why it shouldnt be available in the first place. Afterall i think Grobb has been possible to migrate to on NA.
Totally agree. I would LOVE to stay on ZT, it’s an amazing server, unique with its RPPvP status and I think this is what creates the fantastic core of players we have here, but we do need help. The decline of the player base is crippling the server and needs immediate work to fix. Free transfers TO ZT and some way of communicating to players why ZT would be amazing.
I don’t think allowing transfers will solve the issue as it wouldn’t be enough, it’s needs a merging of other servers.
Rather than just say “fix it” I’m going to offer my humble idea as a potential solution, so at least we are not just coming to you with a problem but also a potential way to fix it- tidy up all the smaller dead low and medium servers, close them down, and give players a choice of ONE pvp, one RPPVP (ZT) or one PVE to transfer to, and then open up to extra pvp or pve as a option once those are filled and if there are any other dying servers out there.
Please at least reply to this to say you are aware of the issue and you will do something about it OR NOT. Let us know either way, as this state of not knowing is causing so much upset and no doubt costing Blizzard money in subs.
Server is dying and they don’t give a monkeys. My guild is planning on moving end of the year if things don’t improve (which I can’t see happening)!
if you want the majority of the ZT player population to agree with you, you should have posted from an alt. whilst theres nothing wrong with anything you said the fact that the biggest someone from the biggest ahole guild on the server said it means you’ll get far less people supporting you
It might be a long shot but I agree with OP give them a chance to resolve this.
Personally the whole reason I moved here was because the RP tag filters the worst of the PVP community and (obviously it should go with out saying) to RP. We still have a relatively small but active RP community on the Alliance side, I would prefer we tried to salvage the situation rather than just nuking the entire server because one faction is suffering more than the other. I can understand why the Horde players want free transfers off the realm but I don’t think it’s fair to nuke the Alliance side in the process when we have 1900 active raiders, myself among them. The reality is Blizzard should have locked off high population servers like Firemaw months ago, there should have been a concerted effort to merge low population servers and offer free transfers to medium population servers like ours. If Blizzard wants to try and salvage this situation I would like to give them the chance rather than just giving up.
Compared to the peak in that graph (2678 raiders in one reset in September 2021), we are at about 67% of the maximum number right now. There is a slight declining trend but it’s to be expected when we’re (hopefully) at the end of a phase where people have already been doing the same raids for over 2 months.
Whether you are from Praxis or not I could not agree with you more. The worst part of people transferring now (not that I blame them) is that they are compounding the already existing problem. I wish people that are here stay and chat more openly with each other, like for example people to allow the horde on the alliance discord to see how we can help each other
@Whiskybuns: To be precise, something a bit like this has happened. Very, very long time ago, retail Spanish RP and RP-PvP realms were actually asked, whether they wanted remain alone or have their RP tags removed and get connected. I do not know what the exact results of the player votes were (I am just a player with no insider knowledge), but the fact remains that the tags were removed and the realms connected to appropriate PvE / PvP groups.
On the topic of characters vs players. When I looked into this a few years ago, on retail realms the the ratio varied roughly between 2,8 and 3,3 (of level 20 to max) vs 1 and because I did not want to be overtly optimistic, I used to run some of my calculations on 3,5 vs 1 ratio.
Granted, it is quite possible that Classic and TBCC realms have a different ratio structure, but my old results may still offer some generic insight. So, 1907 active raid characters would indicate a playerbase of slightly over 550 even on a very raider heavy realm as one has to keep in mind that not everyone, who could in theory, raids and many realms have at least a handful of players who are of insufficient level to raid even if they wanted to. On realms with less focus on raids, the playerbase would go up higher.
Given the limitations and age of my research, please take the above with a grain of salt, but as a possible base for further conversation… bows
Finally I am free from the forum jail after 2 long months.
I am really torn on the issue. On one hand I would very much like to see an influx of players to ZT, since I loathe to consider moving away from the only RP-PvP realm, but on the other I know that hardly anyone is foolish enough to move to a medium server that is borderline low and depopulating steadily. In the end we will all quit or play Wrath on Firemaw, there’s no two ways about it. We are only delaying the inevitable.
Both discords I’m in have said they’ll try to endure. Either by becoming more self-sufficient as a guild (doing PvE together outside of raids, professions, economy) or by looking for cooperation between guilds in the future. We know on Alliance that Praxis is most likely going and if all their teams go that’ll be 100+ of the 1900 or so raiders that are gone overnight*. We expect some serious economy effects, but either we want to have free transfers off (yeah unlikely maybe with Blizzard) or maybe if it gets real dire THEN we will start polling whether the whole guild wants to paid transfer. The last thing we want is having people transfer over individually.
*best case scenario even, some Praxis members might have alts in other guilds.
