Please.. add a Calendar ç_ç

First of all… i know is a later function added post Vanilla but…

for my present and future sanity please add it.

why? because for every event i have to whisper one by one every guild member asking him/her if it will be present for (i.e. Molten Core @ 14:30), open a google spreadsheet and write his/her name in the table… and thats all IF all the raid members are in the guild… otherwise you have to add also the external pugs in the google spreadsheet and hope they will remember that in 3-4 days they have a raid to attend.

Second reason: know the raid reset scheduling… Molten Core is every 7 days (easy!) Onyxia every 5 days so… lemme take out my smartphone… open the calendar app and schedule when can i put an onyxia run without losing a “reset” (if it was every 7 days like MC i would be happier).

Oh… and if one of the raid member have a setback just hope they whisper me so we can take another guy taking his position otherwise we will wait him/her forever when the raid should start. (calendar has the Decline)

We use Discord for raid schedule and signup. It’s pretty convenient.

Do u use a Bot for that? or there is an In-App in discord that allow raid member so sign in to it?

We just have messages containing date and time of the next raid, and people reacting to it with or emotes. It’s not the most convenient way, but it’s better than whispering everyone.

Can’t say anything about PUGs unfortunately.

As others have said, just use an external calendar that you link in Guild Info/Message for scheduled guild events.

I never left! I exist in a weird space between “technophile” and “luddite”. I will spend huge amounts of time and money building a desktop PC to my ideal specifications, but then I flatly refuse to buy a smartphone (Nokia 3310 all the way) and still stubbornly attempt to find boxed copies of new games to buy.

ok but you have to set some rules there too:

1. Every guild member have to put the In-Game-Nickname into the Discord otherwise u won’t recognise the user.
2. Every raid member have to add a “reaction” to the discord post…
3. This method works ONLY with a full guild run… growing guildes cannot use it otherwise i still have to have a google spreadsheet for External… then i just use it for all the raid…

I agree with OP, there is no reason to not add such facilities as they do not conflict with the game itself. All interface QoL are imho to be taken in consideration, Blizzard already added several of them (Grid-like raid frames, alarm & stopwatch, loot history frame, etc.) which means their vision is objective and not distorted by retarded notalgic bias like someone else’s. Google docs, shivtr forums, ventrilo, it’s not 2005 anymore get over it once and for all.

Btw, I wonder how many of the people who did not want the auto-dismount included at all cost are actually dismounting manually and not through AddOns. Eh, the consistency…

I got laughed at when I joined my guild and asked them if they have a vent server.
