A lot, really, too many people create new characters in my realm (Pyrewood Village) and since they are not automatically put in the [LookingForGroup] channel and they have no idea it exists, they don’t know where to find groups and they get the idea that the server is dead since no one here writes in other channels.
Automatically joining [LookingForGroup] channel will solve a lot of this problems. And this is not for new characters only…after so many months of Classic I still meet 60s who have no idea this channel exists.
I’m with this one, this makes more sense than people wanting LFD/LFR changes similar to retail…
I too have found a lot of people don’t know about the LFG channel or like me had simply forgot about it, think I was around level 25 when I remembered to join it😂
lfg is a private channel, but there is also an official LookingForGroup channel you can join over the channel menu. It depends on the server which of both channels is mainly used or if both are used.
It’s a good idea. Among the first things I do on a new character is to add second chat tab - set it up exactly the same as I do for the standart chat plus LookingForGroup enabled and recolored. That way it is easy to enable/disable LFG. Then add addon that plays different sounds on whisper/guild/party/raid.
LFG is private, as in players can gain moderation privileges.
LookingForGroup (case sensitive) on the other hand is by default a blizzard channel where players cant gain moderation privileges and thus cant be griefed. Despite being a blizz channel it is apparently not join by default.
Do we really need to hold peoples hand for everything? People are capable of discovering these things by themselves… In fact it adds value to the game to do so.
I’m not totally against your thought about it but AT LEAST advertise it a little bit. Like, add a loading screen tip or something.
Or swap it with LocalDefense…?
