I am concerned that more than 2% will be able to kill the final boss and access its loot. I would love if Blizz made sure that the number stays low, like in PvP too, only a fraction of people are allowed to have the best gear, which is good.
So please, make sure PvE gets some excitement instead of making it once again a boring gdkp slogfest.
But if you want for a hard raids with 53 abilities on each boss - just go to retail. As we’ve seen from last SL raid - hard raids are not appealing to masses.
But they still make pvp loot way harder to obtain, why the inconsistency? Why are they not trying to appeal masses there? Just make it hard all over, I would like it.
Pvp is only as hard as people who pvp make it, it’s dynamic. If you face pro players - it’s hard. If you face noobs - it’s easy. Gear rewards only depends on people you face. One day you can face pros, other day only noobs.
Pve is as hard as devs make it. Dev decided to put +30% dmg? It always stay like it. It’s static environment.
You compare completely different things.
You simply can’t compare dynamic and static game modes. Plus the gear you get is not interchangeable - you can’t raid in pvp gear, and you can’t pvp with a read gear.
Dynamic or static, the rewards should be consistent. Just because one is harder than another should not mean the gear reward should vary. So I once again ask for Blizz to buff PvE so that we get the consistency of rewards between PvE and PvP. That would be the best. I also wouldnt mind making PvE harder, now it is so boring and easy. Almost like just give me my loot instead of making me waste couple hours of my time slaying pixels ty.
We haven’t even seen how this pre-nerf version of Ulduar plays out on live, yet. From the beta reports, it seems like some hard modes will prove a real challenge for the average guild. I recommend watching Joardee’s beta reports.
Edit: According to above mentioned reports, Ulduar hardmodes will prove an equal or, in some cases, bigger challenge than Sunwell. All in all, my guild had about 150 whipes to clear all the bosses in that raid. Which for us, being a dad guild with limited raid time, kept us occupied for more than a month before we had it on farm.
A lot of players play wrath pve because it is easy, very alt friendly and doesn’t require a lot of time investment to actually play end game content (not like in retail, where you have to do a,b,c,d,…,x,y,z activities to even enter the raid).
Pvp players shouldn’t be concerned about what pve players gets, and vica versa. As a pve player I don’t care how pvp ones gear up. For all that matters - there could be a pvp vendor for gold which would give 250ilvl gear, I wouldn’t care.
You play your pvp mode - you care about pvp gearing.
And if you are a pve player and want harder raids - you go retail. If wrath chooses to go retail mode and make raids with 45 abilities each - wrath will die very quickly, people will move on to pservers.
As long as pve gear is usable and good in pvp, a pvp player is absolutely concerned about this. You just show your ignorance towards the topic as a typical pve only player since this gear funnel is an one way street. Wake up maybe?
If you are full pvp geared and lose pvp/duel to player with a full pve gear - trust me, it’s not gear issue full resilience geared player should never ever lose to a player in full pve gear. Even if pve gear is like 20ilvl higher.
There is a reason why even blue pvp gear is already superior in pvp than naxx25 gear. Yes, you do damage in pve gear, but you fall like a wet noodle.
I assume the only reason why you want less players getting higher ilvl gear is the fact that you could show off your high ilvl gear and feel superior. Well, this is not a valid argument to brick whole raid and risk losing majority of pve players to pservers.
In retail we had SoTF raid which was giga hard (even heroic Jailer was killed by very few guilds), and it made people simply leave raiding/wow, guilds disbanded. Even high end players said RWF lasting for 1month+ was way to long.
WoW is NOT a hardcore game (like souls, or PoE), especially classic versions.
That is the most dense response towards this issue ive heard for a while. I surely am concerned about some damn item lvl and not about those high hitting pve weapons which are acquired easy breezy compared to pvp ones or about the fact that some classes rogues cough cough can absolutely abuse the fact that E A S I L Y acquired pve pieces are BIS (best in slot, im sure this term is somewhat weird for you, but you can google it!) for them.
If pvp and pve gear acquiring were on par it would mean pretty much a huge rating requirement lowering for pvp gear or making pve harder. I bet you are the guy concerned about item level “to feel superior”, go figure, kekL
Anyone who likes challenge is sweaty elitist tryhard jerk and anyone who doesnt try hard as yourself is a noob go play retail kek, yeah we get you. Scramble along “champ”
I really like your intentions, however it’s not easy to “just buff Ulduar more”. If you buff monster HP and damage, some encounters will be impossible to clear or mechanics could be annoying. I played on servers, which buffed the content, and it was too extreme and unfair. Here’s an example. Boss has too many HP: Horde players were able to finish him off just before enrage, but on Alliance he enraged and they had to kite and use bubbles, ice blocks, shaman reincarnations to prolong the fight 30+ seconds into berserk mode.
If you redesign and rebalance the raid, that can ruin the core game principles and can ruin the nostalgia feeling.
I’m conflicted on this one.
I don’t know how “easy” it is to get good item in raiding
With my warlock in 9 naxx raid runs I haven’t seen a single Turning tide dropping (226 1-handed caster weapon). I am sure it’s super easy to target farm low % random drops.
In general, I just find it hypocritical, that a pvp player comes and starts telling how pve should be. I don’t go into arena/BG forums, and don’t tell that successful interupt should no longer silence spell school, that every healer should have disarm, or that paladin bubble should be removed, or that WSG should end on first flag cap…
As I said - we play very different game modes, you stick to yours, we pve players stick to ours. And not a single pve players cares what gear a pvp player wears, or what rating you need for it or w/e.
People buy +20-+25 m+ boosts in retail / cutting edge boost / gladiator pvp boosts, etc… Don’t worry - no matter how hard you will do the content - as long as it is doable - people will boost. And because generally content is balanced to be doable on average gear levels - once you are above average - you can start cutting down team size to bring boosted players.
Youre taking it for granted to get your drop just by attending, and thats the first mistake. The drop rates are not the question here, it is about whether or not the gear is basically free to obtain and to be used in pvp.
I play both pvp and pve.
“I dont care if MUH PVE L00T ruins YOUR pvp, because I dont pvp!” Do you even read what you type?
