Nerfing or eliminating exp. gain significantly while in a low level group with a level 60 doing all the damage sounds like a good idea!
/1 anyone doing link quest if it doesn’t work /1 Can anyone help me with this link quest i’m struggling here guys.
Make you own groups / 1 Lfm DM 1 tank 3 dps etc
Why do players make out communication to be an impossible thing ?
Absolutely not. 1-60 serves as the biggest part of the game where you learn your class, the world and the gameplay. Even ppl who take boosts often come to lvl60 being absolutely clueless and being a liability to their group/raid. Level 1-60 like everyone else, learn your class and only then reap the benefits.
Classic had an expiration date right from it’s conception. At best it will be rerolled with fresh realms long after Naxx is released and that’s it. You are 1 year late to the party if you’re looking for widely populated open world content and abudance of low level dungeon groups. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to do the content, just requires more effort.
no one learns their class in classic. most classic players play this game for multiple years and still u have for example 60 healers that don’t precast, warriors that dont use sunder or dont know if they should prio WW or BT on multiple targets.
5 min from a decent player will be more valuable than 20 days /played for 95% of the classic players
Well you said it yourself, “most” players. Not all. My point was genuine new players should not be granted with an instant 60 boost.
A 60 boost would help them learn the game much faster. It is also what is keeping a lot of retail players away. Classic has lost a lot of players, the servers are dead compared what they were the first months.
Leveling in Classic has basically no content, the quests are not fun nor are the classes. Adding a 60 boost could also be a goldsink or another source of income for blizzard that would also reduce botting.
Of course they are dead compared to then. It’s been a whole year. Many people gave it a try and realised it’s not for them / got bored / switched to other games. That’s normal.
I partially agree with you regarding leveling content. That’s how I feel about it too, hence why I take boosts when I can afford. But I only started feeling like that after I’ve already experienced full leveling content for the first two times or so. And the first two times I had a blast.
If new players are genuinely pushed away from the game because they hate how the leveling process works in Classic, then Classic is simply not for them. They thought they did, but they didn’t. No instant gratifications for new players in Classic is a good thing.
Back in days boosting was a thing but unfortunately it is so aggressively active as more than ever these days.
People have played this game for many years, find loopholes and ways too get stuff quick - making fast earning methods when it comes to gold.
Boosting is nice if an guild mate or friend gives you one free when there is no group to find which happens and i personally do not mind it.
The most concerning for me is, if Blizzard decides to restrict the boosting.
There is a possibility we go back too players only picking a class that can only do aoe / cleave - speed run for fast exp.
or something way worse.
Funny Video by MoronicMinds, but pretty much summary an issue that we might see.
if they remove the exp from the dungeon - alot of people will stop doing them because low level dungeons rewards will mean nothing too them. and if there be dungeon runs they only do it if it benefit them ( such as quest rewards, attunement or bis leveling items ) - you will see people start doing ‘’ WTS Mob aoe clave BOOST ‘’ in general chat on open world zones or something extreme too earn quick gold or experience.
I feel so fortunate for be in early leveling and had a chance to experience dungeon dwelling.
But for new players or people that prefers the old dungeon dwelling ways its not gonna be so bright for them.
Too be very short; Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game.
False, proven false via even pservers.
It’s also funny how before classic launched it was all ‘Classic is about the journey not the destination’ and how much better classic leveling is over retail. The talk about learning how to play their class and having to learn how to fight mobs, or keep dying and have a hard time leveling in general. Forcing you to adapt and make tactics on the run or fail all these quests.
Now what I mostly see in 2020 is multiboxers, boosting, and someone leveling with a max level following right behind them one shotting mobs after the low level tags it.
A lot of the people I’ve met with in game were too young to have played classic, or just never played when it was Classic. So not really.
There’d also be a lot more people that have never played it if pservers didn’t do it and let people play it for years.
I’ve had problems getting groups for EU on Zandalar tribe, and Earthshaker. US I’ve had problems with mid-level dungeons even on high pop PvE servers. My mage, my hunter, and my rogue have all out leveled BFD and RFK without ever getting a group for the quests. Mage that’s almost capped never got groups for ZF, Uldaman, or ST.
As horrible as it sound for a vanilla (note, not classic) lover as myself: put in dungeon finder tool in Classic. Because when the players turns a game to ***t, that is the devs job to make it playable for the non-rotten part of the apple.
It will solve 2 things: class meta (mage stacking anyone?) and boosting meta. And it will let players actually play a mmorpg and not a gold paying / earning simulator. Meeting players and discovering dungeons.
Before you shout: “no changes!” Both pve and pvp in its current state was turned into a monstruosity because of the min max crowd. When the game is broken because of its players, systems must be put in place to control it.
Forcing dungeon finder and premade into premade queuing in pvp and taking away wbs wouldbe a good start.
no.
go back to retail.
As a vanilla player, getting groups for certain dungeons was always hard, especially a while into the game’s lifecycle. Deadmines, Stockades, Wailing caverns, Scarlet Monastery and ZF tend to be the popular ones, but I’ve never ever done BFD, RFK or Uldaman despite having leveled about 7 level 60s. Mara can be done because you used to get the pre-bis ring + thrash blade for melee, but most of the time people skip it if they want to level efficiently because of travel time.
I think the only reason why Ally does SM is that you get a lot of decent leveling gear, you can do 4 dungeons in one, and you run it 4 - 5 times when you’re there.
I never had a problem getting groups for said dungeons - even in BC on my server in 2007. Often actually did runs of dungeons multiple times for good gear drops back then.
only having issues in ‘classic’ with such things because people can just buy their loot from people or buy runs. No integrity whereas in real vanilla, things like that and GDKP would basically unheard of.
And this is exactly how retail became the mess it is now, retail as it is now is why a lot of vanilla, tbc, wrath players upped and left, cause we hated where the game was heading and what activision were doing to it after they got their grubby little mitts on blizzard.
nope everyone isn’t, the last part is you, Here’s why:
You can make a party, advertise for hours on end and frequently NOT find say a tank or a healer, dps on the other hand are usually relatively easy, as long as you’re not trying to find dungeons around prime time on what most consider prime raid days etc.
That needs correcting, should really say “the Minority part of community that wants to minimize”
IE the mainly retail players who decided to come play classic, please stop trying to turn it into retail, the majority of the community DO NOT want that, hence why they play Classic over retail (though some do play both)
retail players AND private server players which make up like 99% of the non rp/pve realm trash
And what a journey it was though, it was amazing… for the first and second character you level. After that it becomes tedious and mind numbing, hence why people take boosts.
I kind of hate to admit it, but I also think that XP boosting has to go. I got so lazy to the point that I’m not even playing any of my chars anymore… I am just boosting them. It has become a dysfunctional addiction of sorts - meaningless.
