I’m on the side to add the tome later like phase 2. People will just rush their main to 80, buy the tome for every alt than rush again through everything just to get a head start on crafting.
Maybe, just maybe we can slow a little down in the beginning. I believed that classic was about a more relaxed experience rather than the same hectic, rush based gameplay of retail.
Also, the big problem with retail is not that flying was disabled, but that Blizzard in their big brain moment decided to make the map with flying in mind, knowing they’ll later enable it.
Of course it’s gonna be bad if the zone is designed for flying (looking at you Revendreth) instead of ground traversal.
You wrote that alts were at some imaginary unequal playing field early on due to heirlooms (if OP’s idea is to be taken seriously). You invented this argument. I claimed it’s a nonsensical argument as people won’t have full heirloom sets early on anyway.
So you’re just gonna pretend you can’t read questions you don’t want to answer, gotcha.
And yes, heirlooms contribute much more to make the playing field uneven than flying on an alt.
Your question is aimed at yourself, not me. You’re still the one claiming that heirlooms will create an uneven playing field early on. I’m not. You are.
Will you get full heirloom sets at level 76 or how should I read this? You can’t deck out an alt with full heirloom in just a few weeks and have it to be at that level. Unless you do nothing else, I suppose. Cold weather flying you can buy within a day or a few from Wrath launch.

Leave the tome till at least p2 or leave it out entirely.
Let the retail players have everything so easy that all the fun goes out of the game, let Classic be a more thorough experience.
