Please just replace Skysight

Making it usable while moving doesn’t help the fact that this racial is probably the single worst one in the game. 10% movespeed as our active “combat” racial, when other races get haste or you know real damage and mitigation is an insult.

It is also completely useless for Druids, because of Feral Swiftness and Travel Form.

It is completely useless for Hunters, because of Aspect of the Cheetah and Aspect of the Pack.

It is also useless for Shamans because of Ghostwolf.

Skysight stacks with none of these, and is therefore a completely dead racial for Skyborne Horde. And this is HALF of the playable classes for horde side skyborne.

The rogues also barely care because they get sprint.

Only warriors get some benefit from it, and even then it is completely eclipsed by every other race because what warrior backs 10% movespeed over something actually useful.

Remove Skysight and replace it with something else. Because as it stands it is impressively useless. At least the alliance racial has SOME use. But Skysight? I have not pressed it a single time since leaving the starting zone, and the same goes for every other Skyborne I have seen regardless of what class they play.

Also, don’t forget it’s more or less entirely offset by a boot enchant giving 8% movement speed. Meaning it nets us 2% movement speed… locked behind a cooldown and a cast.

But the racial being bricked from start is one issue. The other being read leyline. If you want to play a moonkin/resto druid. Where your output is bottlenecked by mana. You have to accept an entire leveling experience and sustain during endgame being 15-25% behind your ally counterpart. Tell me any other class/specc that will fall behind around 20% output based on a racial? (And there’s a over time significant gold factor as well counting all water you have to buy as horde instead).

And the racial balance pass buffs the already op alliance one and leaves the horde one be. There’s no words.

I’m locked to horde due to irl friends. So I’ll just refund cause I’ll never play horde skyborne as it is now. Probably not druid at all on horde given the crazy imbalance.

Just give horde read leyline as well as it’s a fix you can make before release and be done with this embarrassment before going live.

this sadly wont happen coz if skyborne gets to usefull stuff people will Cry pay to win from the top of they lungs and blizzard dont wanna deal with that

It’s not entirely useless, shadowmeld is also relatively useless for druids and especially rogues, doesn’t mean it’s not nice to have as it has other uses.

I can think of multiple scenarios in which the speed bonus would be nice to have, even as a class with other MS boosts:

Druids are able to apply hots, decurse, etc while running at a higher speed.

Hunters are able to have higher movement speed without being dazed.

Warriors will be able to keep up better with enemies, and also have an option for something to cast while not within range to do anything else (in preparation for when they can move).

And you still have the slow fall goblin glider which is absolutely nutty for quick bursts of movement speed as well as long as you’re on a downhill slope.

As for the alliance version, how do you reckon warriors feel about it? It’s utterly useless for them to have +100% mana regen for 15s.

, when other races get haste or you know real damage and mitigation is an insult.

Skyborne get haste, what are you talking about? also +5% dmg to elementals is a clear combat benefit (" real damage" cough cough)
(I would argue here that it is quite bad for shaman as many of them are immune to nature dmg and I personally think all of the +5% dmg to something could f- off, its just weird.. but you’ll top dps on Rag Im sure lol)

but Im with you, this racial sucks butt.. and I think nobody should play Skyborne its an abomination, doesnt belong and is yuck.

10% movement speed at least does SOMETHING for everyone, even in combat.

Read Leylines, +100% regen, does exactly nothing during combat for classes like warriors and rogues, who can’t just stop casting, or get spec-based spirit regen while casting like arcane mages or resto druids.

Does that make it good?
Absolutely not. Both faction-unique Skyborne actives are absolute garbage-tier and should be completely reworked, instead of this lazy “make em castable while moving” change we got.

I dont think +100% regen is useless… its actually pretty good with the talents that allow you to regen in combat.. Its absolutely cool to have in raids, you know nothing, Jon Snow..

EDIT: I also think 10% movement speed is great in PvP, for melee classes (enha shaman, hello? you just get feet enchanted for +8% and nobody’s running away from you)

I didn’t say it was universally useless. I said there are classes where it will never do anything during combat.
Tank - Does nothing, because you’re the one taking damage
Melee dps - When solo you’re taking damage and blocking regen, in raid your hp regen doesn’t matter, and you either don’t have mana, or have no talents that allow constant regen
Hunters - Won’t feel it unless they literally switch to pure auto attack for 20 seconds, and if they do that, then why are you bringing them?

The only 2 classes that will ever feel this during combat, is specifically Arcane Mages, and Resto Druids. That’s it. Out of all 5 available classes with 15 available specs, exactly 2 specs care about this racial during combat.

I think this gets to the core of the problem with Skysight. Making it castable while moving and adding more Elemental Convergences helps, but it still doesn’t solve how little value several Windshaper classes get from it because it doesn’t stack with their existing movement tools.

Here are some of the suggestions that have come up in other forum discussions about the Windshaper racials:

Current racials that could be changed

Wind Blessed – 3% Haste
Personally I’d rather see this brought back toward 1%, or potentially replaced. The jump to 3% adds a lot of raw power, but doesn’t really make the racial package more interesting.

Elemental Insight – +5% damage to Elementals
Replace passive with the movement-speed passive instead.

Skysight – +10% movement speed active
Turn Skysight into an actual combat button.

Possible Windshaper package

Passive 1 – Movement
Around +10% normal movement speed, automatically strengthened by Elemental Convergences.

It could carefully stack with things like Cat Form, Ghost Wolf and Aspect of the Cheetah, perhaps contributing around +5% while another movement effect is active.

Passive 2 – Wind Blessed
Keep it around 1% Haste, or replace it with something else depending on where the rest of the kit lands.

Active 1 – Reworked Skysight

This is the part I think is most interesting to discuss.

Two ideas that have come up:

Dodge + Haste

  • 5% Dodge + 5% Haste for 10 sec
  • or 10% + 10% for 5 sec
  • potentially with a continuous Windfury-style wind effect

Wind Cushion

  • Instant cast
  • 2–3 sec reaction window
  • Reduces the next direct damaging hit
  • Protection could be capped around a percentage of your own maximum health, so good timing can save you from a big hit without making it absurd against huge boss abilities

Another suggestion has been to give Windshapers and High Order a shared combat active instead. Personally I prefer keeping their faction-specific actives distinct, but it’s another option that has come up.

Active 2 – Walk on Air
Keep it as it is.

So rather than trying to lock every number in immediately, I’m curious which direction people prefer for the new Skysight combat active:

Dodge + Haste, Wind Cushion, a shared active, or something else entirely?

I am talking about active racials that do something for combat. Like stoneform or berserking. Other races have actives that have a tangible effect on combat in either throughput or mitigation.

Even the alliance one gets this, since theirs is a resource regen steroid. Horde gets a movespeeed debuff that literally stacks with nothing other than mountspeed.

There is a boot enchant that gives 8% speed. which it doesn’t stack with.

The issue is horde got two movement actives, which isn’t ideal. Especially given skysight is made irrelevant to quite literally over half the class options.

I agree. Skysight needs to be changed or adjusted. It should at least stack with other movement speed buffs/skills, then it would be somewhat “acceptable”.

If Skysight stacked with other movement speed effects, it would be pretty good. Perhaps even a bit too strong.

Still, Read Leyline is way better (unless you are Warrior or Rogue then it’s a bit underwhelming). Every class that uses mana has access to mana regen in combat skills/talents. Not to mention that the racial doesn’t specify spirit regen, but all regen. Does that mean Blessing of Wisdom is boosted by 100%? That seems broken as hell, and I doubt that’s the case, but it’s still strong even without that.

Can we swap it for read layline so horde also can have superimbalanced mana battery racial?!?

Dont be so swift with your judgement here.. unless there will be ley lines inside raid dungeons (I certainly dont know anything about that), it will be what? a 30sec regen, so its like troll health regen, but slower..
It’s superimbalanced only if there are ley lines in raids for the 15min duration.

So about 25% extra mana regen then… Not overpowered?!? That is an insane boost to a mana starved druid. If forever is anything like classic mana regen is a BIG deal for casters

Oh come on.. it looks like an extra double/triple mana pot.. its fun.. saves you innervate for others.. gives you a reason to play the smurf, and its not gamebreaking.. If you get to keep it on with the 15minutes, then its crazy..

What exactly is preventing you from picking up Leylines and then getting summoned into a raid?

“Oh, but it’s too tryhard nobody is going to use it.” Yeah, just like nobody used world buffs, right?

Yeah mr. TL/DR.. I never said that, dont put your own bs into other people’s mouth..
Obviously you’re going to start the raid with it.. but after 15 min you’re probably not going to get a group of people outside every time to resummon you outside. But you don’t have to worry about that, since you’re not going to be on that Alliance raid.

That BS is literally what I have heard other people say on this very forum.

Dont react to me then..
