Please keep the horde ugly

You’re about 13 years late.

I did an AB yesterday on my Orc Shaman. The rest of my team consisted of 8 Blood Elves, 4 Vulpera and 2 Nightborne.

Horde is done, it’s “Elves 'n Friends” now.

Wow I love the Horde now.

I do not really care about the looks, I care more about the culture and the way of life. Originally Horde races were more tribal and the Alliance are urban and civilized. Therefore I support the Idea to get mor tribal races to the horde. I do mot care what they look like. Preferable no Elves tough. (Okay, I would take undead Night Elves tough).

But the lore option wasn’t.
By lore standards, the Highborne didn’t rejoin night elf society until cataclysm - hell, Shandris was more than willing to execute the Highborne after they joined and it was only Tyrande’s mercy that prevented her hand.

At the end of W3, the Highborne were only know through two races - the Naga and High/Blood Elves.

Horde has always been the better looking faction. I mean, the Aliance has gnomes, dwarfs, male draenei and worgen. Nooo thank you.

And then we got the Vulpera. :man_facepalming:

And the men too

It’s not even just aesthetically that Horde elves make no sense, but also thematically.

Blood Elves are a race that were driven to near extinction from the Scourge. There are only a fraction of them left.

Are we supposed to believe that in zones that are a Horde war interest that the majority of the soldiers (players) are Blood Elves?

You can always count on Blizzard to kill immersion.

From a story perspective all player characters count as one main champion in and raid party’s are small enough to just be classed as one main player plus his friends/troops.

Look at the end cinematic where it was you who blasted n’zoth.

Cracks knuckles
Let me tell you about Elves. No, put down that book by Tolkien, put down that Warhammer rule book. Let me tell you about Elves from human myth and legend.

They are not nice people. By not nice I mean they are worse than Orcs. They are absolute monsters. They are horrific, but people just see the grace and “Oooh they’re so pretty” and don’t actually think about what they are.
And thats part of what makes them so very, very horrible.

The late, great Sir Terry Pratchett put it best in his novel “Lords and Ladies”

“Elves are wonderful. They provoke wonder.
Elves are marvellous. They cause marvels.
Elves are fantastic. They create fantasies.
Elves are glamorous. They project glamour.
Elves are enchanting. They weave enchantment.
Elves are terrific. They beget terror.
The thing about words is that meanings can twist just like a snake, and if you want to find snakes look for them behind words that have changed their meaning.
No one ever said elves are ‘nice’.
Elves are -bad-.”

He was right (and the Elves in that novel are totally Blood Elves,)

In our myths and legends Elves are survivors, the world has turned against them, and they have become cruel, you can only trust an elf to do one thing, and that is “Whatever is best for me!” They are the -worst- kind of savagery, that horrific type of savagery that dresses up in silk and looks pretty, so that none dare call it savage, ‘Fair of Face yet Foul of Feeling’ as the Irish poets used to say, Sometimes they will steal children from humans, and take them away, until they get bored of them, and just cast them aside, sometimes they will just break into a house on a whim, and kill its occupants, just so that people will fear elves, oh sometimes they will work with others, sometimes. Generally a certain type though.

Big. Nasty. Brutish. Elven Knights would ride forth, looking radiant and glorious, amidst a Faerie Host comprising Orcs, Trolls, Goblins and Knockers, Bestial creatures, Ogres and Giants,

Thats the actual truth of our legends, not this prissy version Tolkien presented. Elves from our legends were not Legolas, oh hell no, they were Prince Nuada from the Hellboy film.

They -Totally- fit within the Horde.

And the Forsaken were a fraction of the Scourge? and the Orcs were a fraction of people from prison camps? The Darkspear were a small tribe on the verge of being wiped out, the Tauren were a Nomadic people on the verge of destruction by the Centaurs and the Bilgewater are the refugees from an island destroyed. I could do the Alliance races too, but I think you get my point.

Yes, because that is an entirely credible possibility. We know Elves like fighting people. We see how many High Elves Blizz keep shoving in our face. Thats 1% of the survivors from the Scourge invasion. The Blood Elves are 9% There’s quite a lot of them. Let me give you some lore facts here.

When Kael’thas formed the battlegroup ‘Sunfury’ and led it to Outlands, it comprised 15% of the -survivors- of the Scourge invasion. During the campaign in Outlands a body of soldiers defected and became known as the Scryers. They are described by eyewitnesses as numbering in their -thousands- Thats a small fraction, of 15% of the populace.

Sounds pretty realistic to me.

I mean, if you’re going by pure percentages, the Forsaken are all now skeletonised and should delete their characters, the Orcs are an inbred mess of one tiny tribe, the Tauren and Darkspear don’t exist anymore and the Goblins were never brought into the Horde as Thrall would have either died as a child, or be chieftain of a horrible inbred cannibalistic hillbilly family.

Or we can just go with “Blizz don’t numbers good”?

And how much of an injustice they did him.

And I LIKE both the Del Toro Hellboy films.

They look like moldy potatoes

So yes

i vote for that the game is running low on raid fodder those races you listed would be perfect please move from under the umbrella of the horde and alliance and line up for the butcher block

Hey!! Ya get one a’ those, bub. One!

I really don’t understand what you are trying to argue. The Highborne society, is made out of Night Elves, get it? The Alliance has the Night Elves, get it? Alliance are not missing out or throwing a fit because the Horde got the Highborne, which is factually incorrect, get it? Because the Alliance already has the !RACE! the Highborne was made out of. Get it? And now the Alliance can not only play a Kaldorei, but they can RP as a legit member of that NIGHT ELVEN society. And with Shadowlands, the night elves will get the yellow highborne eyes and that will seal the deal.

Also, Mordent Evenshade, the leader of the highborne, is neither Naga nor Blood/High Elf. Nor the remaining Highborne. They are Night Elf. So…

Where the Highborne were exiled, sent to the bottom of the ocean or were turned into Satyr.

Yes the Night Elves, those who, at first meet - had not lived in Highborne cities for 10,000 years. Not used arcane magic for 10,000 years…those who still resented the Highborne through the Naga.
The Highborne, by official lore, joined in Cataclysm.

The Lowborne Night Elves joined the Alliance before the events of Classic WoW.

But those night elves were NOT highborne. They were the ones who were more than willing to see the ancestors of the high elves, be executed for sticking to highborne ways.

Now, as in - from Cataclysm. 2010. Not 2004.

Since when? I thought it was more so just a band of misfits, or outcasts that come together. Beautiful or not, it doesn’t matter.

Okay Kermit

Who the flip you talking about. Us Belf elves is best horde race, since years before nightborne was. Nightborne hasn’t changed that for a majority. Unless you just dislike belf’s for reasons.
