That still doesnt mean that every game doesnt have things it does better and worse than other games, and in my opinion Theres nothing wrong with taking note of those things that are done very well, and giving those their own spin.
Yes. I agree.
But also their consequences. And if those consequenes fit wow or not.
Thats fair, but at that point wouldnt we be talking about failure to properly design/implement rather than the copied system being good or bad?
Meaning the incompetence does not lie with the other game but with Blizzard.
Player housing is a great example of this. Everyone knows FF has an amazing player housing system that WoW could definitely pull inspiration from.
And thats what i am sceptical about, Blizzards ability to pull something like that off.
WoW has thing thing where cosmetic hunters are a minority.
So Blizzard tried to adapt player housing schemes to wow playerbase. And the result was garrisons.
It did not end well.
And any cosmetic only system is not popular either. Archeology, the mog competition… to name a few…
So Blizzard cant implement player housing. That is the reason. Consequences…
that is what we call victim syndrome Stockholm…
As soon as you make gold account wide, you increase gold storage for each character. The limiting factor of the AH is the gold cap. How do you think this will affect the pricing on rare commodities in the future.
Professional guilds will spend more real money on gold, and any competing guilds will be forced to do the same just to keep up. Seeing the Lariat recipe hit gold cap was stupid enough, now imagine if this was a common occurrence across many items.
Keep it as it is imo. Yes, blizzard would make more real money in the short term, but who will come play a game where you have to buy a ton of tokens just to buy an item.
I’ve stopt playing alts since 2012 blizzard didn’t make their game alt friendlier professions (Like fishing cooking gathering) and also gold and quests are just a boring things to re farm and send over to alts.
Their game is a way better single player game than an alt game.
Also having a quest pop up all the time you log on a 2nd alt you’ve already made the quest on a main is very annoying.
You declining it yet still it pops up coming back to the main zone.
Quest should be account wide unlocks too remove alt stuff just make stuff like raids and such an alt experience instead. Play it once get done.
I had only 1 toon from 2005 to 2019. And from 2019 to today only 2 toons. One of which dosent do quests at all. Only M+ (this one). And its the one I play the most with.
But I am well aware that I am a strong minority. Most of the people I know play alts. A lot of them.
So a ton of people dont find all that stuff annoying (yet…).
Not a Minority I think you come from a big opinion of frustration blizzard should do something about since it would affect their game in to the 2024 and beyond for the better Im tired of having to constantly click away content quest I’ve already done or install an addon that does that for me.
make quest optional after max lvl on 1 toon.
No. Like I said. (A) its not “big”. Nowhere near.
From personal experience with friends/guildies and from people in this forum.
I play 2 toons (mostly 1) because I choose to master 1 class and spec as deep as possible and find the limits of that spec.
That is what I think is fun. But I know many others dont share my opinion.
Has nothing to do with alt friendliness. In my case atleast.
loads of people sure likes to quest but make a thing inside the ui were you can turn it of once you done the main story on a main it’s literally not to much to ask for.
There are quests which are of interest to you. Weeklies and daily quests and/or repeatable reputation hand-ins.
Its not as easy as turning off the “!” above the NPCs.
I personally dont care. I ingonre the “!” and move on. Not something so hard to do.
once you done on a main should be unlocked for all since it makes no sense once you done you done.
make it account wide. im tired of having it pop up in my face like a
Sure. But I want a raid item on my 1 alt for doing 5 timewalking dungeons too.
There is no “unlocking” there.
there is now with the alt bank now you can send items to alts now too.
???
I want 1 item for my main. And 1 item for my alt. Total 2.
I dont want to do the quest once and get only 1 item. Especially if that quest takes 30 min at most.
And those are only the 2 that I want (5 timewalking dungeons and 4 M+). But other people are maybe interested in the PvP ones and want that conquest for each of their alts.
Dunno… there are a ton of quests one might be interested in doing…
So spend 2 minutes to hand that quest in and don’t pick up its follow-up. Problem solved.
It is. Once you reach level 15, you can reach absolutely max item level without accepting a single quest.
No. The default should be the current design. It should be a “hard-to-find” option to enable what you want, because your suggestion has permanent and irrevocable consequences.
