Please no more depressing themes next expansion

Please no more zombies, skeletons, green ooze, grey hallways, obsession with death, or barren colorless zones next expansion. People want to go back to Azeroth where it’s full of sunshine and bustling with life. I probably need a prozac prescription to even enter Korthia one more time.

I don’t really mind the dark vibe as long as it is on Azeroth, Shadowlands feels disconnected from WoW, imo.

I 10000 % agree! Ko more demons or undead/scourge. We need something light with full of life without anything dragging they other way. Like pandaria without sha influence

Blizzard does tend to ping-pong a lot between themes for the expansions, with some huge contrasts here and there.

I’m still holding onto the idea of The Emerald Dream, because it’s kind of like a Kinder Egg. It’s a bit like Azeroth, very vibrant and exotic, and it’s full of life and nature and none of that doom and gloom from The Maw.

But we’ll see. I do think Blizzard have learned from the days of Orc fatigue that you can only stretch a certain theme for so long.

At the same time, then it is worth noting that Shadowlands hasn’t actually explored a lot of content yet. I mean, we’re still early in the expansion, so the upcoming patches may introduce some different themes. Who knows.

I think it’s mostly the slow pace of Shadowlands that makes the content and theme seem tiresome. Slow expansion is slow.

That sounds amazing, but I would like it to be a new zone instead of a whole expansion.

I would love to visit Emerald Dream and imagine if there were treasures where you needed to climb trees! Mhm dream come true (pun intended) .

Dark = bad. Happy = good. Do you not appreciate the complex storytelling of Blizzard???

I think its the Maw that was too much this expansion. Other zones were great.

I agree.
Poor gameplay is depressing.
Can we have something a bit more… Less sucky, next time.

total opposite actually, i hate all the sunshine and bustling with life stuff as it always clips through when youre moving. Give me barren zones, skeletons etc etc any day.

SO MUCH THIS.

Have alllll my likes.

Ps; Shadowland’s depressing theme during a pandemic? GG.

Problem is BFA already took most of the Azeroth themed ideas and put them into patches.

Under water expansion with Azshara? Done

Old Gods? Done

Light Vs Void? Sounds boring to me and confusing ever since they decided to shove the Void elves into the alliance filled with light using races. But no problem I guess. :woman_shrugging:

they said they abandoned that idea and instead created a raid.

It’s like with any ‘basic power’. There’s no good or evil in the power itself. It’s how it is used that is good or evil (or somewhere in between).

So void as well as light can be good or evil, depending on who uses it and how.

Me using fire to cook a meal. Good.
Me using fire to burn another person. Bad.

Fire is just fire and doesn’t care anything about good or evil.

I’d like an expansion with areas that aren’t so boring to look at. That don’t make me think “Ugh” every time I see them. Questing in pandaria, or the barrens, or other sunny happy areas is always more fun. Remember thousand needles before it flooded? Or a nice warm Tanaris.
They can have dark themes, but don’t make it all about dark gloomy sad. Allow some joy in there too. What are we fighting for? This world is terrible, let’s go back to pandaria now that the Sha is gone, and just be happy.

Also, Prozac, I used to be on fluoxotine, it wasn’t enough for Korthia. I’m now on Sertraline, but a higher dose. It’s still not enough.

Also, more evil pig boss music. We need happy background music, even during boss fights. Whacky crazy fun stuff. Get us up and dancing and celebrating. I play video games to escape depression, let me do that! <3

Nazmir is a good example I think.
It was gloomy, but not depressing.
