Please, no more female lead characters Blizzard

I think they said that having some many female leads was accidental or something.

I know they said that about the Warbringers when all 3 of them were about women.

then again, you have Women of Warcraft panel for some reason.

just give me semi interesting characters and we are good.

The losers who pointed out how all 3 warbringers are women had too much free time and were being hypocritical, because I bet they were keeping their mouth shut when all 3 Legion harbingers were men.

Considering that main characters from both genders are written horribly in WoW…does it really matter?

I don’t feel as if the current female cast is in any way being forced on the story itself.
I think that the overall PC agenda seems to be affecting all characters evenly, regardless of gender.

In all, i don’t think having more females with leading roles is a bad thing, for as long as they are written well.

Because yeah, Jaina is some badly written character, but so is Anduin.

I think this is a problem, for race/class combos as well

For example, my Alliance main is a Night Elf Death Knight and somebody said to me “Wouldn’t you feel better if they made more Night Elf Death Knights. Give more of a representation.”
But here’s the thing - when I play a Death Knight, I’m not looking for extensions to Night Elf lore. I’m playing a Death Knight - an Ebon Blade Knight - and I’m not expecting to see Night Elves involved in that piece of lore, because it is primarily a Human (or Undead, depends on how you split hairs), faction.

Many have been written badly in BFA.
But what’s the reason? Well, if we think back to WoD…filler expansions tend to have badly written stories.

I think BFA’s only saving grace in terms of the story, were some of the Heritage Armor questlines, like the Blood Elf one.

You guys must have missed Warlords of Draenor where the stage was almost entirely dominated by men, and it would have been if Maraad and Velen did not die to make space for Yrel.

Well, ahem, Rastakhan did die rather prematurely after so many years of being hyped up, and his story was indeed taken over by a previously non-existing female. Arguably, even before he died.

Though I won’t go as far as to say that he was killed specifically for a gender agenda, I can’t make that assertion with certainty, nobody can.

I think Blizzard is just clumsy at writing most often than not.

It’s not a pattern, that’s what I meant to say. Single cases aren’t much of a problem.

that loser was a female

I wouldn’t say so. He had big story in Zuldazar zone while Talanji had in Nazmir together with Rokhan and Darkspears.
I don’t think she hijaked anything from him, as she did her best to save him and was extremely upset by his death, all she wanted was for him to act, and he did act after bucket of cold water was thrown at him.

I believe he should’ve survive and remain as ruler of Zandalar while Talanji should be in charge of Golden Fleet to be “active on the field” and gain experience in dealing with out-of country affairs before she will get responsibility at home.

For a long time I wanted prominent troll female character, and a priestess. But that didn’t mean I wanted to have it at expense of other very likeable character. I think Rastakhan could have more story and more interactions with his daughter as they were clearly caring about each other.

That would be my ideal scenario. But since Rastakhan is no longer there at least Talanji is competent enough leader and priotize the well being of her people above her own good. Which in current WoW is a rare case to see such a leader.

Talanji is the only leader who truly defines what it means to be “an allied race.” The Zandalari are allies to the Horde, they won’t serve with blinders over their eyes.

Honestly, Talanji NOT being on the Council is actually good story.

A lot of people over react to seeing female leads in these times. It is a problem in wider pop culture at the moment with female leads (badly written) being push into many things.

I don’t think this is the case with World of Warcraft at the moment.

Any complaints that I have about the female characters in this game come purely from their writing. Jaina being a massive one.

And on the other side I don’t feel that the characters gender has anything to do with it when I praise a new character like Talanji.

Okay hold up!

Sylvanas….is modern age feminism……and Saurfang…is the Patriarchy!

There, I’ve unveiled the Message Go-Blizzard was trying to tell us.

Same.
I praise the character of Talanji, not because I like trolls, as I only play Blood Elves, Nightborne and Orcs, but because her story is actually continuing from where we last met her.
She told Sylvanas her terms, on the Horde and she wasn’t budging then and she isn’t budging now.

I like continuation, like that and the new author has to be met with praise in this regard.

Meanwhile on the Alliance, we got a male tyrant that beats up six year old dragons and mansplains to the elf of color :frowning:

No worries, it still wont add much depth to the lore, Draka … She’s never been important to us appart from giving us good old Thrall :joy:

Just stop dude.

This, ultimately, is the problem with Blizzard’s output of fiction. Their writers structure their plots to try and get one over on fans, rather than create a narrative people can get invested in or care about.

If the writing was better you’d see far fewer complaints about “forced diversity” or whatever.

You didn’t suggest anything, you told Blizzard to “stop with the female leads” (completely ignoring how several lead characters of BfA were men) and that’s it. Why should Blizzard listen to an internet random like you?
