Please, please, pretty please, get rid of lvl 11 scaling bug abusers!

Fix the frigging scaling, I beg of you! The queus are already forever, and when you get in there, some lvl 11 twink is already halfway through the instance, steamrolling everything.

No fun, no gameplay, and you can’t even just leave again because of the deserter debuff. This is clearly not how the scaling is supposed to work, it’s an abuse of a faulty system.

Please fix it, it’s getting unbelievably tiresome :frowning:

With this I can agree, not with your title, because the root problem is simply the terrible, terrible scaling itself - it doesn’t only ruin events like timewalking, it also ruins the leveling experience itself, making you grow weaker the higher your level gets.

But I’m afraid to fix that is something the devs just gave up on, instead deciding to give us tools to simply skip / shorten the leveling experience…

I have to ask,

How do you figure its an abuse ? Is everything someone disagree’s with now classed as abusing the system ?

Idk why we moved away from the old formula time walking used, ive gpt a boat load of old gear i cant use cause of scaling now

I’m guessing the idea was so that time walking no longer needs bis items from years past as before.

When they do with a macro that breaks the rules basically so they boost others and they get full xp…?
They are using it so they can boost someone in a premade group.
Thre magician’s trick is, usually if you pre group with a twink you won’t get xp, but this macro makes it so you leave and rejoin quickly so the xp debuff doesn’t apply.

In my book is indeed an abuse

Is that macro even needed? Like its about level 11 chars correct? I reckon level 10 chars work too? In that case you just get an army of 10s or something and then swap after like level 15-20 because even at that level you just delete the mobs.

If that macro exists then ye, that should be a bannable offense (and Blizzard stated that grey zones will not work into the favour of the player but rather against them).

The macro indeed exist
And it is a grey area Blizzard not really willing to poke

it’s not a “bug” - it’s a feature.
No, rly- it’s just scaling and people who can 2-shot bosses on lvl 10 or lvl 11 are just stacking socket gear etc. It’s… twinking.
Stop crying, make yourself a twink too.

I was more on about that Blizzard said that if its a clearly grey area then the players are suggested not to do it because if Blizzard decides to punish then they won’t be accepting excuses.

I mean if Kentarro is right and a macro exists to lock your XP while preventing the debuff that stops XP for your group then it could at least be regarded an exploit as its clearly not a intended mechanic and had to be circumvented.

I am not really want to post the macro, since… grey area but on YT you can find a tons of vids with the macro in the description

Essentially it expands on and shortens this method:

  1. Join group with twink with locked xp.
  2. Get twink to port out and turn off xp.
  3. Wait for debuff to run down on other characters.
  4. Port back with twink and kill something and reset debuff on twink.
  5. Twink kills everything in dungeon. Repeat.

I had no idea this was a thing lol.

But I am guessinng the macro pertains to zoning out of the instance group and back in quickly so the debuff is not applied, as there is no other scenario in which you could leave the group as it would drop the queue or you get a deserter etc.

I mean… duh. Didnt say you were lying (nor implying). I mean, you know how I speak.

Ye, if a macro is used = Bann (although I assume they use throwaway accounts? Can Trial accounts join dungeons? Google is spitting out yes and nos (more leaning towards yes)).

it´s just an exploit that can´t be fixed unless bliz takes away the level block thing.

No macro is needed for boosting (unless you were talking about something else here)

A guild member has a twink, and I got boosted by him. What we had to do was go on voice chat, then queue and let each other know if we both got the pop or not. It´s an exploit.

This is also why we have to deal with pre-made battleground groups. They use the same exploit, which is why you see the same names the second time you queue for random battlegrounds.

I think he means its a macro that allows you to queue as a grp (so you don’t have to do the queue at the same time trick which may or may not take some time) and then disables the xp block for the grp while still keeping it for the level 11.

Oooo i didn´t know about this one. i went old school lol

Macro or no macro, it’s clearly an abuse of a flawed scaling mechanism. It may not be illegal, no, but how can anyone seriously argue that this is an intended feature? Really, ask yourself this; did Blizzard truly mean for a heroic instance to be speedrun solo by a lvl 10-11 chr? Does that sound logical or reasonable in any way?

Players will always meta, (some at least will), I don’t blame the twinks. I blame a bugged system that has been bugged since forever. The recent power inflation just put things on edge. Before TWW, low level chrs still needed the occasional heal and such. Now they don’t. It’s not just a timewalking dungeon issue, by the way, it’s all over regular pug’ing too.

The state of affairs right now is simply stupid and meaningless. What’s the point? Doesn’t matter if it’s leveling or badge collecting, if there’s nothing to it anyway but a brief grind of a design bug, then just implement a “I have no interest in this content, just hand me the goods so I can get on with it!” Button. Everyone will be happier for it.

How is it an exploit? You are not affecting game files or anything. It’s at most “immoral” but like come on. Not everything is an exploit.

I like my lvl 10 resto shaman twinks that blast everything so fast. It’s fun! Never met anyone unhappy with me shortening their pains of a TW dungeon slogging

I googled how it works and it’s an exploit and needs to be reported via email to
Hacks@Blizzard.com

Abusing Game Mechanics:
Intentionally using a legitimate game mechanic in unintended ways. For instance, luring enemies into areas where they cannot retaliate or endlessly farming a broken spawn point.

in this case we found a way to skip the debuff exp when you queue in a group.
