A polite message to say please sort out the pugging system somehow or at least the meta classes in Mythic +. As a warrior, I cannot get in to any keys and I know some other classes have the same. Everyone goes for the boomie/hunter/mage meta and it’s leaving me with very little opportunity to progress in the game and grind what I love.
My Raider IO isn’t even that low at 1300 yet I somehow get invited to nothing. There’s only so much grinding of your own key/friends key you can do especially when you get 3-5 repeats of keys that are already timed. Please don’t comment with “push your own keys” as frankly if that is/should be the case then there is no need for a PUG system because people should have guildies/friends they can run keys with…
I know a few people who have stopped playing this game over the past week due to not being raiders and not being able to get into Mythic + keys… Especially when friends etc are offline.
Somehow, you need to make it a level playing field on classes because right now there is a huge stigma across multiple classes and an auto decline when they see the class colour makes it near impossible to enjoy this game.
Literally got all that lol. Guildies - some push higher keys but not everyone. There’s always a mage/boomie/hunter alternative they’d rather get in despite knowing how much I pump due to the added benefits of other classes (dont say “reroll” because that shouldn’t be the case as do you want a WoW full of druids/hunters???)… Friends - People have their own time and schedules, and so therefore aren’t always on… But then again, this comment has come from a druid so wouldn’t expect anything less.
So add more people to your friend list. Had a good run? Ask if you can add them.
I have no problem running keys on any of my alts (I have 10 max level toons), regardless of class and spec. An extensive friend list makes a whole lot of difference.
Apparently not, because this needs to be repeated multiple times a day.
I PuG as a healer with a tank friend, and I will fully admit that us both get the fleeting moment of “oh look, a Mage is applying! Let’s take him even though his ILevel is lower than the others”. We get those moments, even though we play non-FotM specializations ourselves (Blood Death Knight/Brewmaster Monk with a Discipline/Holy Priest). We get that brief moment of “disappointment” when we see that the Druid we accepted isn’t Boomkin.
It sucks. But this mentality exists. It’s subconscious, and it will be there at some degree on another - even when you deliberately pick “worse” classes, because then you admit they are “worse” in the first place.

This issue made me join a guild a couple of months ago and I havent looked back ever since. I mained a shadow priest and couldnt get groups, after joining a guild and actually showing what I could do I got all the mythics I wanted (not that I wanted that many :D)
I’ve played warriors since BC and i’ve never found a class I enjoy as much, therefore I know the class inside out and absolutely min-max it. I would love to reroll to another class but if im not getting the enjoyment from them, I shouldnt see the need to when realistically every class should be considered equal…
And it’s fair to want that, it really is. It should be unfair to expect someone who enjoys a specialization to have to reroll to meet some whims (which admittedly exist because utility or throughput are skewed).
I believe some of the biggest problems in M+ now is you cannot really help someone to push his / her key because of the vault. Let’s say you want to help someone to push a +7 you’ll have to do another, let’s say +14 for the great vault. You are not commiting to help your friend, you’ll also have to finish another high key, so you are commited to 2 keys instead of one.
This… you’ve hit the nail on the head… The force of reroll to meet those needs is so crazy… Im gearing a monk now because out of all specs it’s the one closest to a warrior enjoyment, but the regrind, the IO, the gear … It’s tough - part of the game but when I feel like I’ve hit a wall on my warrior, it feels bad… 1300 RIO and I haven’t even got the mount yet xD
Considering your at 1300 which means you have.probably times most dungeons at a 13 or so you seem to be doing better than 90% of the people in the game. Including tons of mages hunters and boomies who don’t get an inv because they don’t have ether 215 ilvl or 1300 io. Soooo
Just for some clarity, im an average 6k dps overall Warrior, with a 99% parse on almost all dungeons in Shadowlands… I’ve even tried explaining that but nah no chance getting invited to a key xD
All they need to do, imo, is to make engineering battle res a bit more efficient and improve the drums to be a bit closer in effect to that of real heroism. There will always be issues with meta classes though. That is more in the hands of the community than in the hands of the developers though.
There is no doubt, though, that any combination of tank + healer + dps + dps + dps will be able to, if played well, easily do +15-keys. It would be cool to make a challenge, e.g. here on the forums, where people make up non-meta, “stupid”, “impossible” comps, and where the challenge is for others to form groups and post proof that they have +15-ed keys with said setup.
One very interesting, possibly great, non-meta compa that involves your class is the following:
Monk tank, holy paladin, feral druid, enhancement shaman, fury warrior.
I’m confused as to why people think this is new, it had been going on for years now the pug Meta mentality. The only thing as an also non meta class who cannot get into pugs will say is that you are 1300 so the keys your going to be applying to are to improve your score I imagine so higher than average keys that will also attract other likely or greater scores players than yourself. Not only will they be higher score they may be higher ilvl and also meta class, if it was your key would you take a lower ilvl lower score and non meta class? Probably not. The real thing people dont seem to understand is that you do not know why you got rejected. How do you know they dodnt invite a 1600 225 warrior instead ? Too much assumption over something you dont really have a right to demand entry to so just keep an open mind with pug applying, keep trying or resign to doing with guild/friends imo
