In Classic the choices you make while creating your character have a real meaning and are a permanent feature of your character. You would take that away with your custom changes. It’s a big deal.

I rly don’t understand why Bliz won’t allow this as well as barber shop.
It’s a good opportunity to skin stupid kids off their mom’s money and does not hurt the game in any way while making profit for Blizzard.
I rly don’t mind if X Rofladin is male, female, trans or w/e. I rly don’t mind if they have punk hairstyle, emo, beard, pink beard, green beard, green hair etc. Catch my drift? It still makes money for Blizzard though.

I think it should come in the form of a paid service at the options screen.
Keeping the barbershop out of the game would be the way to go to keep the authentic classic world.
There is already a recover deleted character option in the game so it’s not like it’s how it was in vanilla. I remember having to make tickets to get old characters back!
Keep it to gender and features only. Faction and race change just complicates things too much and is an impossibility reference Paladins and shamans.

Well things like faction change, race change, appearance change, store mounts are things that are outside of the active world. If people can just break the worlds rules, the fantasy of the world is broken.
If you care about your appearance then you should also care about the fantasy of the world. Otherwise you’re just playing dressup. Edit: What I mean by that is all these aspects of your character exist for reason, the sex for example is used in dialogue which could affect the context of the quest or actions.
