Possibilities for wow 2

Didn’t you say that you dislike Zidormi phasing of Tirisfal Glades?

That is something they need to fix yes. But that doesn’t mean I want to bin the entire game.

one day it will… i didn’t ssay it had to be deleted for wow 2.

and how’s pso 2 doing? bad. their revamp didn’t attract the amount of new players they thought it would.

sorry if i’m not saying what you want to hear

Well, guess what Punyelf? There will be more and more Zidormi phasing with more and more expansions being thrown at existing client.
Revamped Silvermoon which is expected in next expansion (if i am not mistaken) will most likely come with Zidormi convoluted quest :slightly_smiling_face:

PSO2 doing bad is in absolute 0 way related to the change in game engine. It’s related to the fact that they release pure shop fomo stuff every 2 weeks and just 30 minutes of new story every 9 months.

I am one of the people who stopped playing PSO2 exactly because of that lack of new content. And yes, I have “left behind” nearly 10 years of collectibles in my account there, exactly because I stopped caring.

when the engine upgrade didn’t attract the amount of new players as they hoped for, they started milking the game that’s the outcome and totally related to the way thet handled things.

If I can’t migrate my existing characters then it’s a hard no. Ive invested too much time and effort over the course of at least 18 years to simply throw it all away and start fresh.

The engine upgrade DID attract new players, because it was combined with the release in the West and the NGS version of the game. And it maintained a healthy and stable playerbase until they ran out of content because they hadn’t planned that much in the future.

Speaking as someone who played PSO on the Dreamcast all the way through to Ver2, then Epsode 1 and 2 on the Nintendo Gamecube (where I met my wife, still married) OMG the memories of DC PSO and not just of insane gameshark cheat codes) then PSU on the 360 and played them virtually 24/7 all i will say about PSO2 is that it felt like being robbed at gunpoint by your own parents.

I don’t know what the technical obstacles are, but I would love to see a better and renewed engine. The current state of the game is so dependent on add-ons and weak auras but we all know that they are a pretty huge burden on --even modern high-end-- PCs.

I mean my PC is not struggling a lot unless there are too many things going on at once. Then it starts stutters, sometimes --especially in a raid environment- those stutters can be hurtful.

Either cut the dependency on add-ons and/or WAs or renew the engine and uplift the graphics too please…

Ain’t gonna happen, would cost them too much to develop and they’re making easier money by just doing expacs and making the graphics better each time.

People start over in classic every year or something, they clearly don’t care about it

Well, we had the WoD remaster of everything and the continued improving of graphics because the wow art team is carrying every expansion
Also BDO still uses the same engine and so on. They did a similar remaster to what WoD did to wow.

Unreal engine, at least 4, is mostly outdated and pretty unoptimised for 3rd party games but it can be made to look really pretty for cinematics. And people have seen videos done in a cinematic way exploring Orgrimmar or so which makes them think wow can look like this without exploding their computers.
(And if you sit and look at most games in that engine you can notice tons of issues. Example: Like a Dragon: Ishin!; FF7 Remake, etc. They’re also very demanding for SP games on top of having tons of issues graphically. Stutters, glitches, low resolution textures, etc that they simply can’t fix and no mods have managed to completely do either. Imagine an MMO. Also the above doesn’t apply to wow at all, in fact their new ground textures, for example are so good on high settings)

If they do something like it I want it in a wow specific engine or maybe even borrow their homemade engine for Overwatch because it’s both beautiful and optimised in comparison to UE.

They do say Wow doesn’t do multithreading on the CPU well, so that would be good if they can fix, on a game which relies heavily on the CPU.

Hmm, I do see a new setting under graphics about multithreading so maybe they’ve been taking some steps to do it a little better? My old PC actually runs the game better now than it did in BFA/SL

There are plenty in Retail who don’t collect, or read any quests, or watch cutscenes.

Each to their own.

Classic bores me, others love it.

Just trying to share a possible point of view.

Yes, in fact, the update the other day suddenly increased the FPS by 20, and my computer doesn’t even have a gpu

People who don’t care about anything their character does or collects, and just start over and over aren’t going to be affected by a WoW 2, mind you they are playing classic. So it’s unlikely to have much impact either way.

But the people who are impacted by a wipeout are the ones who are most likely to object to it.

Oooh, I didn’t know that.
